To quote the membership status rules:
1. New Members:
Everyone who registers on our site becomes a New Member. This title has nothing to do with your actual knowledge of cars. It just means you have not proven yourself on our site. You can view all public forums and Search for all the tech info you need. However, you will be limited to posting in the areas designated for New Member posts (Newbie forum, the Problem Diagnosis forum, the Appearance forum, the Site Feedback forum and the Tech Guide sections). New members also do not have access to post ads in the Classifieds section. New Members will be on thin ice and are expected to follow the Forum Rules, learn from other members, and use proper grammar (and the Spell Check feature). You will also be expected to have read all of the DSM FAQ's in the FAQ Forum, all of the Tech Articles in the Tech Guide, the VFAQ.com articles, and to have done a Keyword Search on any topic you'll be asking a question about. Do your research before you ask or you will be warned or may lose your posting abilities. You can earn "Proven" status by learning from the information already posted on the site and answering questions from first hand experiences in the Newbie forum and Problem Diagnosis forum.

Just because you are a New Member does not mean you cannot use our site to find all of the information you need to modify or fix your car. It simply means you have not yet proven yourself as a helpful, contributing member. Contribute more and you will graduate to Proven Member status. Learn more about the Reputation Points System and how to earn points. After you receive 10 positive reputation points, you've been registered for 30 days and have 25 posts, you will graduate to the Proven Member group. Be careful - you can be bumped back down to New Member status if we determine you deserve it, so be sure you're always helpful and courteous. And always give respect to those with Wisemen status. They have contributed more than you and deserve your respect from the beginning. You have to earn their respect but you will always give them yours.

This should clear it up. In short, you're missing the required rep points to graduate to "Proven Member" status. Keep participating in discussions that you have knowledge in, answer questions in detail, and if someone thinks that it is worth it, you will receive said rep points.

Edit:

I read through some of your posts, and remembered another requirement. I don't mean to offend you, so if I do, I'm sorry. Your spelling and grammar could use a bit of improvement. Definitely not as bad as what I've seen before, but it may not be up to par according to the site rules. Hope this helps.

25 posts, 25 rep points, and at least 30 day long member.

Search the site rules and it goes over this.

Something like that. Its been a long day.:thumb:

But the moral is, help people and receive rep points.

It'd be nice if people would read the rules, then there wouldnt be threads like this. Also if you would like to become proven check your capital letters (I).

Haha, except NOBODY leaves rep points and half the time my leave reputation button doesn't even work. What a great system.
