Well, i had an obnoxious red and black interior for 2ish years. I liked it when i first put it in, but i kinda grew out of it. The other day i decided i'd had enough of it, and repainted most of it black with some white accents. It took me about an afternoon to do most of it. I know, i didnt get the ash tray yet, i need tro do that soon. I'm also waiting on some white faced reverse glow cluster gauges.

Here are before and after pics.

looks good. I actually liked the red./black scheme you had.

either way both schemes go well. GOOD JOB!

p.s., if you're lazy and you don't want to redo that FG job you did [nice try :rocks: , jst practice more] I would find that some sort of flat black plastic panel and cut the shapes out. much cleaner.

The white looks MUCH better, what paint did you use???

Hm, and you might want to leave that airbag cover black. Just from the picture it looks like the the white reflection could get annoying.

Get rid of that nasty fiberglass mess in there, and it won't look bad at all. :thumb:

i want a black dash so bad but i am scared that it is going to look ghetto if i try and paint it

That looks very nice, the passenger airbag cover seems a bit odd though, for some reason.

Question- How did you go about painting all that in one afternoon? What kind of paint and how did you paint it? It looks very nice. :thumb:

Yea, we'll see how the airbag cover works. Its been there for a few days, and i havent had any reflection problems with it yet.. i may have to change it to black, i'll see how it feels in a few weeks.

I painted it all in one afternoon by working on it pretty much all day. all of the black peices i painted at one time, and while those were drying i painted the white. Repeated that a few times. The longest part was sanding it all, that was annoying. I used the Dupli-Color paints and clear coat.

it looks very cheap.
That was kind of harsh. I think it looks pretty good. A lot of people completely ignore the interior and just want to make the outside look "fast and furious". I know a lot of people who don't really like the look of a painted interior, on the other hand, I've painted I know at least 50 interiors for people. To each his own, right?

great work on the interior...i agree that the red and black looked good...i love the black and white...just looks so good for some reason...i decided to go with blue for mine..and i think its great to dress up the interior...you gotta do something to it right? but great job man...took me much longer to do mine...i didnt do it all in one day..took me like more than a month..did it every other weekend...

he asked for opinions, when you ask for them you will receive both positive and negative.

I dislike the color scheme as well (darker colors i think would look better). Ive also never liked painted interiors because it does look cheap.

the new interior looks great...not a big fan of the red an black interior...cuz ive seen so many like that...but the white interior is still classy but has a nice aftermarket appeal...great job...one day when i finish everything on my to-do list...i might try to do something with MY interior...

i like both black and red and the black and white. its a very clean job compare to what i seen. i want an all black interior but i have no money for that but it would be so dam hot inside the car on hot day.

You have ruined a perfectly fine black interior. Next time you want to rape an interior like that see if you cant find some grey peices to trade off someone. Looks like complete crap in my opinion. shame.

yea i wouldve traded wit ya.. black interior by itself is teh win.. just get the 99 black leather seats and ur set..

but on a positive note.. its much better than that ew red

The white looks way better. I would lose the color on the airbag though, thats about it.

96_talon, did you use Dupli-color's Vinyl & Fabric? And did you use the flat black or the glossy black? I wish I could see the difference between the two before I go buy one...

also, does the stuff stick well to the plastic peices also? most likely after a good sanding...

If you notice in my information to the left, I have a 1996. The interior was originally grey, The dash was grey, the doors were grey, everything. I dyed the dash and doors black, so.. i guess i ruined a perfectly good monochromatic grey interior  (notice the color of the seats, carpet and steering wheel)

Darkseraph - I used the vinyl and fabric on the vinyl dash, door panels, and door inerts. Everything else was done with the Dupli-Color plastic paint. For the vinyl I gave it a good sanding with 180 grit, then again with 220. I painted a few layers, then smoothed it out with 800 before applying the clearcoat. Remember to clean with prep-all or rubbing alcohol. DO NOT use acetone, it will make your colors cloudy.

RedTurbo - Black carpet and black OE leather seats are next on the list.

i really like the little red x's.

Yea, picture trail decided that since i wasnt paying for an account they would make it inactive. Wonderful.

I like the black with red accents, I tried to do a section in my car and it looked like sh!t. I'd love to get it done though. Nice Job :thumb:
