NEW idle surge question !!

Hi , the other day i told you guys my car was always on high idl's.
I mean cold 2000-2500 hot 1500-1800. Ok now today its not the same problem anymore.

My car idle keeps going up and down (jumping) 1000-1400.

Driving fast or slow makes no differents , when i stop at a stop or light. Jumps on itself 1000-1400.

I also have the feeling its soaking air (like if someone was holding me) when i hit 2000 rpm comming down it comes down real fast to 1000 , and then jumps again.

PLEASE HELP ME !!!

Can you describe soaking air? I'm not exactly sure what you meant. Try the simple things first though like throttle body cleaner, MAF or MAP sensor whichever the 93's have. Or it could be one hell of a vacuum leak.

If you don't know how to check those lemme know. Or search, there are forums on how to fix idle surges all over this place.

Check your ISC, make sure that all of your vacuum lines are in good condition and see if your throttle cable is too tight. Air is getting by your throttle plate somehow. Check these things out.

This morning everything was ok , soaking air (my idle comes down from 2000 to 1000 like if the engine was closed at 2000 (realy fast) then jumps from 1000 to 1400 up and down.

It makes me feel like if someone was holding the car when i come down to 2000 (compresion) like if i was down shifting gears.

All my vacuum lines are ok , i pluged them this morning. Only thing missing wich didnt make a difference in the idle is the broken thermostat valve.

is he trying to say sucking air? he said something about some one trying to hold him? . ALLTHEWAY2Drag, check your Fast idle air valve at the bottom of the throttle body,then your Idle speed controler, Maf, Coolant temp sensor, Throttle Position sensor voltage at 0% throttle, boost leaks, Throttle body gaskets, intake manifold gasket. sounds like unmetered air getting in somewhere. Just my 2 Cents though.

I am sorry but everything Hesh mentioned was in the Terry Troubleshooting guide. Please take the time to open the link and read it. It fixed my idle problems at 6 months of trying to figure it out. I got the boost leaks fixed then discovered my FIAV was leaking. Closed that still had surge then found ISC was bad on one side and it shorted out the drivers/caps on the ECU. The ECU can be repaired but take the time to read this. A new ECU finsihed all my problems but I had already tried a couple ECUs and probably fried them too since they worked fine a couple months. I now have this printed out and saved in my DSM handbook for dummies. Not trying to be rude but you have the info.
