Hello everyone, I am new here. I am not new to working on cars however, I currently own a 98 3000gt SL. I have the opportunity to pick up a 95 eclipse gst with 113,000 miles on it for $1500. I just wanted to get other's take on it, find out if there is anything I should be concerned about (I have read a lot about crank walk) and if I should just steer clear of this car. Thanks!

Take a battery out of another car and start it

Okay well I bought it, it does need some work obviously, it revs a little rough between the 2-4k park but once the turbo spools its fine, its also appears to be burning oil, a small amount of black smoke comes out of the exhaust when revved. Aftermarket oil gauge is reading 0 psi of oil pressure, that can't be right or else I don't think the damn car would even run.

But you should read the basics and also read up on the SAFC that is on that thing so you can understand those as well. You will learn these cars real quick with all the joy they bring

I love myself a good mitsubishi car, I already own a 3000gt but this thing is a monster compared to that. First thing first is figuring out this electrical problem, car shuts off, but I guess the electrical components aren't shutting off?? Battery won't hold a charge, so I don't know if alternator is not charging it or what. Needs to rotors and pads, I blew out a rotor driving it to my house when I picked it up. Needless to say its going up on jackstands tomorrow.
