Hi, my name is Erik. Last week I posted a dirtbike for sale on marketplace and someone offered to trade me a 1996 Eclipse GSX. I’ve always been into off-road, not much into cars, but after some quick research I agreed and picked it up the next day. The more I’ve read up on it the more stoked I am to have this car! It runs but needs some work. I’m still figuring out what I actually have here, but this is what I know so far:

•GSP 16g turbo installed
•Has intercooler
•Fuelab pressure gauge
•Tein coilovers. Not sure what model.
•Volk Racing Rays wheels from 1997
•The power steering belt, AC belt and air box/air filter are missing
•Previous owner said it has ECMlink, found the chord, need to check for the chip
•Mileage is vague, not sure if it’s been rebuilt. Checked history report and had over 200k years ago and odo now shows 48k.

I’m glad I found this site, I have a lot of reading up to do. I’ve found a lot of good info already.

Welcome!! Your definitely in the right spot. How in God's green earth were you able to trade a dirt bike for that stunning gsx?
Absolutely great score none the less. I'm sure the first things your reading up on are maintenance, because that's what alot of these cars suffered from. Anyways whatever information you need, you'll find it here for sure.
Good luck and don't give up.

I haven't been able to drive mine, but a report showed that mine should have 300k+ miles, when it really only has 55,129. I think it's just mostly a what if?

But awesome trade, can't wait to see what you do with it, being a newbie here myself, there is an absurd amount of information here that at points its overwhelming and makes the decisions harder (at least for me at times) so good luck on your journey!

It was a really nice bike and the timing was perfect. Yes, first thing for me is to get it mechanically sound so I can get it on the road. Already have some parts coming in and will be changing all the fluids asap. Thank you.
