New DSM 6 bolt, need help

hey guys, so im gonna run down my mods, then my problems, and hopefully you can give me so quick answers since im new to DSM and wanna learn mucho about my car.


Mods- big evo 16g turbo, 3" dp-exhaust, CAI
Mods to be installed that are in my garage- AFPR, 650cc FIC, 255 fuel pump, FMIC on its way.

ok so this is the deal, i have the swapped 6 bolt engine on a 1995 talon. i just got this car, the car had been sitting for a bit with previous owner. changed all gerneral maintenace(oil change, timing belts, all other belts"AC, Power Steering, Waterpump")

Just got it tagged a week ago, and have now broke my second powersteering and ALT belt in a week. ive been meanign to put all the Fuel Euip on, but the east coast keeps gettign slammed with snow and i dotn have any garage to park and work in. are the belts breaking because its cold out and proper adjustments have not been made to keep them circulating the right way? do you guys think the pulleys are trashed? i have no idea why these belts keep breaking, i just wanted to see if the experts on here could tell me a thing or 2 before i send it back to my mechanic who passed the inspections.


BTW: shell has 160xxx miles and motor has 12x,xxx miles on it

Are you over tightening the belts. And are all the pulleys lined up perfectly. If they aren't lined up correctly the belt will start to ride the edge of the pulley and the belts will get ate up and break.

ok that may have been the case, ill just have to check witht hee dude puttign them on, i always do my own work, but he did this bc he was inspecting it. also, when i comes to buying parts such as intake manifold or exhaust manifold, do i buy them 90-94 1st gen, or for the 2nd gen 95-99. i have the 1st gen engine and second gen body, would make sense to buy first gen engine equip, just makign sure though.

Yes if you buy an engine part it needs to come from the year of the engine not the car. So it would be a 1st gen manifold.
