well, i dunno if you guys remember at all but i joined this board a little while ago after buying a 90 plymouth laser turbo as my daily driver for my pretty heavily modded S10... well anyway, you bastards got me hooked. i just picked up a 92 eagle talon Tsi AWD, 6 bolt/ 4 bolt this weekend. it is in beautiful condition, looks brand new in and out. and drives very nicely as well there ARE a few issues though....
- just about every oil connection on the turbo seems to be leaking. i think it's all pretty much self explanitory hopefully (the car was previously modded i'm suspicious maybe the stock turbo was just kinda "slapped back on" i could be wrong of course though.
- biggest problem, the car has an overall "fuel-y" smell after looking around i found a small puddle of what appears to be fuel on the intake manifold, and noticed right above it that the injector appeared to be soaked with fuel so im pretty sure thats the culprit. the two middle injectors are pretty loose, you can rotate them by hand where as the outside ones are pretty snug in there. is there some kind of seal or o- ring that needs to be replace? how serious of a fire risk is this? should i park the car untill this is fixed?
- lastly, idle surge... which ive found a lot of info on. so i'm hoping that will help me. but these 4 vacuum lines on top of the TB ( seen here http://members.shaw.ca/dsm.1000q/Engineprimer/throttlebody.jpg ) are disconnected, and it appears that an attempt to plug them was made.... does ANYone have any idea why this may be? and what do they hook up to? i would really like to get them hooked back up to where they need to go.
i apologize for the novel, i just really want to get these issues fixed ASAP. thanks a lot for any input guys.
