NEW BODY KIT for 1G!

Designing something is one thing... having it prototyped and made is another (very expensive process) and I'm flat broke.

Ok, so how many people would be in for the Protege Front lip modified to fit, and the Kaminari style rear lip? If we can get 11 people, we'll can sell the pair for $449, or 15 people we can do for $399 + shipping.

Nothing out there right now works well with the stock body. They all suck and make the car look like a cheap radio shack r/c car designed and built by someone who never owned a car (prison labor in China).

Because the 1Gs are so old and 1G owners aren't exactly loaded... we're lucky if any one wants to make anything for the 1Gs. The front lip in the swedish car above is OK, but it doesn't flow well with the rest of the car. Too obvious that it was really meant for something else... No go for me. Exaggerated example, but kind of like sticking a Jun bumper for an 300z TT on a Ford Escort. Just doesn't jive.

Another idea... make those M3 mirrors. You'll sell a bunch. No such thing premade for the 1G. Everyone that has it have been custom grafts (too rich for most). Powered ones, even better!

Let's save the posts for this thread, to this body kit project alone. We aren't interested in making a hood, fenders, a spoiler, mirros, etc. At the moment we are only interested in making a kit. Paul put up some good designs on the previous page, using the Protege front lip and his modified Kaminari rear lip. Who would be in the for that combo?

The 1G don't need a body kit. Thats my point there is nothing out there for body kits because nothing looks good besides the stock body.. I think the best thing out there is a stock body with a small lowering kit

You're right it doesn't "need" a body kit. However, one that gives it a nice updated look doesn't hurt.

Getting back on topic... if I had the bucks... I'd go for the lip, but since I don't... RIP.

The only problem i see with that is, 2G's are all BUBLAY, and 1G's...well...aren't

Yeah, that's why I chose the 2Gb bumper, which is a little more "boxy" than the rounded 2Ga bumper.

ya, I don't like the idea of making an aftermarket "stock" part. It sounds contradictory. Anyone up for the lip kit like we have been talking about?

Yeah, but if you think about it, a lot of stock parts are "imitated" into body kits... namely the skylines... And since it doesn't come stock on the 1g's, it's not really "stock" is it?

I like that euro lip on that red 1ga .. I think thats what would improve my 90 gst the most ..

I love my car cause unlike most of the 1ga's it has the small 1 1/2" lip that runs under the factory bumper .. its not much but it does wonders for the lines of the car. If they made some different styles of vented front valence lips, as well as matching rear ones to bring the rear bumper a little lower with out changing the style drastically , i think that would be ideal.

You could then keep the sleak suttle look of your car but stand out ..

how about this, its a stock eclipse bumper with Fog lights added to it and a 3000GT spoiler, i love this car

this was done on Manuel Go's car and im not sure who did it
