NEW BODY KIT for 1G!

That is a nice look. We could do a motified protege add-on front lip in fiberglass and then an add-on rear lip modified from the FX kit in the picture. It would go well with the 1G lines and keep it very clean. I don't even think it would need sideskirts necessarily. What do you guys think? The price would definitely be less for just the front lip and rear lip.

The FX kit needs a lot of help. There is just too much going on there. Also, I think it's a full bumper cover rather than a lip.

I'll draw up a rear lip that can just go on the stock bumper.

Your right. Stock side skirts are just fine the way they are. It's the main reason I bought a 91 rather than 92.

If it's just stock front and rear lips the cost would be reduce substantially. Installation costs would be much lower as well and can even be a DIY project. Most 1G owers are against body kits anyway. A simplified lip-lip kit would broaden the appeal.

Again Paul, drawing up a real lip is nice, but it won't help us with the project. We would have to take an existing rear lip from another car and modify it.

BTW, if those drawings are yours, that is some skill you have. Very impressive.

I'll do the front later... but this will work with the Protege lip. One note though... the Protege lip is not a direct bolt on fit. The lip needs to be lengthened to fit a 1Gb (92-94). Still no word on whether it'd fit a 1Ga.

please find some one to make that PLEASE!

i will get one def.

The drawings are mine.

Heres the rear lip and how it'd look with the front lip... dotted lines are stock lines. The pink area would be the actual piece to be made.

The rear lip is basically the Kaminari rear lip for the civic. Should be able to adapt that to the 1G... and perhaps not as buldgey like on the Civic since the Protage lip is pretty smooth/flush with the the stock surface the rear would have to match somewhat.

Note... the 1Ga and the 1Gb have different bumpers. So the lip would have to be made differently for the two cars. The differences wouldn't be that big... only concerns the license plate area on the 1Ga.

Something like this for the front might work too. Evolution for the Supra

Seems like it can easily be done to the 1Ga front bumper. Chop the lower portion off and mate and smooth the new lower lip.

I'm liking the look of the Protege front lip with that Kaminari like rear lip. If we were going to make two different rear lips (one for the 1GA and one for the 1Gb) we would have to have a significant number of pre-orders for each lip. Otherwise we'll just have to make the one that the most people will want. Just out of curousity, how many people right now would buy the protege front lip, modified already for the 1g? Also, how much does it run for you to buy one and do it yourself?

Front lip from mazdastuff.com is $261. Overpriced IMHO. It's a genuine Mazda JDM part.

Should be able to make replicas and sell for much less... half as much probably.

What does it cost to modify the lip to fit the car perfectly?

i like the idea of the skirt instead of the whole bodykit..(it should be cheaper as well)

nice job on the photoshop pictures i like the ideas u have..you should work for a bodykit company making new designs on the computer(easy job and fun)

Looks good except for the kind of "grin" it has. If that part of it (by the foglights) flowed a little better it would be perfect.

I like pauls "kit" MUCH better, if it was under $300 I would jump over that!!:thumb: :thumb:

with minor mods this is a perfect front, like I said I think its amazing in person

Know anyone hiring?

Transportation design was my first love, but had to give up that dream because the colleges that teaches it are expensive. Like $30k a year for tuition alone.

The Risq or drift front end looks good from the angles you showed... however if you get a side shot, you'd see the front doesn't match up to the stock side skirts. It hangs lower... and there aren't any decent side skirts for the 1G except for the stock ones.

thats where you come in and design some nicer ones, or maybe stock looking that hang lower:confused:
