Thought i would post my new wheels and tires and say thanks to the DSM community and those who advised me on my wheels and tire selection. It drives so much better now and corners way harder. Can't wait until i get my strut bars tomorrow.

235/45/17 Kuhmo Ecsta ASTs on Universal 6 spoke gloss black rims with BBS center caps.

Those look good! Glad you found a setup you like. Like with any suspension work, I'd suggest an alignment as soon as possible. Be sure to check your battery tie-downs as well before installing the front strut bar.

And, not sure if your aware, but it appears you have vented rear rotors. If so, the car is likely an "Early" '95 model, which usually includes an EPROM ECU and Viscous LSD.

Yes well aware! My last eclipse was also an early 95! ive lucked out in that sense. I havent checked the ECU yet, but it has the Viscous LSD. :) .

OH forgot ask... They put 29PSI in my fronts and 32PSI in the rear (may be off by 1-2PSI each).. Is this correct? Or did they think my car was FWD for some reason? Can anyone explain this?

holly batman now that wheel gap.

Ya i want to do alot of other things before i worry about that. It doesn't really bother me as-is, and i scrape on everything already so i cant imagine another 1-2"... good lord.

It's easy. Picture angry drivers 1 inch behind you while creeping onto a side street and praying you mounted the intercooler high enough.

But be aware, your neck will hurt for a good month with how much you'll look back at your car in parking lots.

I'm glad you brought up the psi as I recently researched the heck out of this. The recommended psi listed on the door jam is specifically for stock wheels and tires. However, for aftermarket wheels and tires you go off the max psi listed on the tire. My understanding is that 4-5psi from the max psi listed is the best in regards to fuel economy and handling. I played around with my Kuhmo Ecsta 4x's (50 max psi) and found them to be the best at 40psi. I used to run the 32/29 combo on my low profile tires (225/40/18) and people would always say my tires look under inflated. After running at 40psi I've noticed much better handling and less drag when driving on the freeway. :thumb:

I must ask about the BBS caps...why? Otherwise, not bad. :)

+2 on that remark as they aren't the real thing nor do they resemble the BBS rim design style. Kind of like slapping on a Type R sticker on a regular Integra IMO :|

As a designer i must say that black cars with black rims don't work very well together. But that's just my professional opnion.

Since black is such a neutral color, you should use a color with more impact to make them more noticeable, i'd recommend copper for a racing look, or maybe a light gray or white for rally look.

if you want the "badass" look dark gray is your color, but never the same one as your car.

Professional opinion? I think it looks nice black on black. Its a person opionion. Each person likes there own color or design.

Yes, the professional opnion of someone that have studied the subject of esthetics and color combinations for over 4 years. But yes, you are right, each person has a different taste.

i'm just trying to help.

Honestly, got the set of wheels for $250.. and they came with the BBS center caps. Didn't really bother me for the price.

^ LOL

Personally, I'm glad to see gloss black rims without a massive polished lip. No offense to anyone, it's just a serious dislike of mine. However, I do agree with the professional. Bright wheels do look good on cars with darker paint.

I believe they run a little less PSI in the front tires because of the motor weight, otherwise it would be a stiff ride. I could be wrong.

They actually did the reverse psi recommendation - it's usually higher psi in front due to the weight of the motor. I know on the GSX it recommends 32 front/29 rear - it might be different on the GST due to weight and drivetrain (if someone can clarify). I run the same all around due to the fact that I have a 50lb subwoofer/box combo, amps and another 15lbs of tools etc.

I agree. I don't need a professional telling me what I like cause me likey.

So does that mean I have to carry a color wheel with me and see if the rim paint combo creates primary, warm, secondary, colors etc!?ROFL JK
I agree, it's always down to personal taste and what makes you happy :thumb:

Go ahead and make fun of me, i deserved it. LOL

Sorry if i sounded a little rude man, contratz on the set of wheel, i didn't have the chance to say they are really nice, it's just the color i'm not a big fan of.

Of course you didn't need me telling you what looks nice, and i never said i was right, i was just giving my opnion like everyone else.
