I need a new passenger side axle for my 2g AWD 5spd no-abs eclipse. Im lookin at getting it from a local autoparts store (autozone, NAPA, shucks, B&B) and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any quality differences between them, and what to exepect for prices. Also model #'s would be helpfull so the parts guy doesn't screw up!

thanks

What's wrong with your axle? If just the boot is ripped you can get it cleaned, repacked, and a new boot on it. If it's totally destoryed and you need a new one, I would personally upgrade to a beefier one if you plan putting down some power. I've always bought from napa and everything I've ever gotten was in great condition and looked very nice. Everything has always bolted up correctly and I think most of their stuff either meets or exceeds OEM spec. Plus you get a pretty good waranty with their products, some even lifetime.

yesterday I did A LOT of calling around, and this is what I learned:
Autozone: rebuilt axle, $170 w/ core, lifetime warrenty 2 days to order
Napa: Did not carry axle
Shucks: Rebuilt axle, $80 w/ core, lifetime warrenty 3days to order
B&B parts: did not carry axle
Dealership: new axle, $500

I went with the shucks reblilt axle, great price (maybe too good but lifetime warrenty) and they will have it in 3 buisness days.

these are for a '97 GSX, manual, no abs in seattle area (seatac)

i'd like to know about both LOL. i know raxles F axles are good but for performance is it better to 'upgrade' both F and R? or just the Front

Raxles no longer does rear axles (quit like 3+ years ago) :(

I would like to know where to find 3bolt rear axles since they don't seem to exist at parts stores or otherwise. But in order to stay on topic, raxles axles are definately great for the price and can withstand what most of us will put them through on a day to day basis.
