New 91 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD, need help

I have a 91 Eagle talon Tsi Awd auto that has 71k miles on it. Bare bone stock. Want to start a build. Not sure what to do first let alone what to do. What should I do and where are good places to buy performance parts?

You want to start a build!

First thing you should do Is decide what you wanna go Street/Rally/Show etc...and plan...

then step 2, Engine Maintenance. Most important before any mod's or anything. A good Engine Tune is the best way to start.

So what build are you deciding on?

I want it a street fun car that I can take to the drags every once and a while. I also want it to look good but I have what I want for that the major thing is the build. I want to basically upgrade the internals of the engine and upgrade drivetrain and turbo. I've heard things like be careful and make sure all the parts help eachother not conflict and I don't really know where to go with it.

Follow the upgrade path.

No need to worry about the engine internals at this time. Basic maintenance first, the timing belt being one of the main things.

Run a compression test and a leakdown test and check the health of the engine.

You need a tune solution and a wideband before you need H beam rods, forged pistons and big cams
