I have installed my new 3065 setup and was just wondering a few things before I install the last bits and pieces and fire her up.

To prime the turbo I just took a cap of oil and poured it in the inlet and spun the wheel for about 30 seconds. I then repeated this once more for good measure. Is this enough " priming "

Do I need to run coolant through it before I fire it up?

Also on the tial 44mm. Top port for boost control or side port?

I'll have some pics up shortly. Setup looks so good. :sneaky:

The most common priming for turbos is usually disconnecting the ignition and cranking the starter for 10 seconds and let it rest and repeat 2-3 times. That turbo does take the oil from the head correct? If so you can just disconnect the line and feed oil straight down to the turbo for extra priming.

What boost controller are you using? If your using a ball and spring MBC or a bleeder MBC/EBC the vacuum lines are different. Refer to your waste gate install instructions.

If you are using a mbc then connect the top port but if you are using an ebc then you connect both according to the diagram included with the wastegate.

Not true, The type of MBC changes the vacuum lines. a ball and spring goes directly to the side port only. The bleeder type MBC/EBC has a tee in the line going from the compressor housing to the MBC/EBC and the Tee'd line goes to the top port. The line from the MBC/EBC is connected to the side port.

How to connect to external wastegates

Oh snap! You finally got it all together now? PM me, I wanna run by and take a look sometime.

Affirmative, BB turbos use coolant for cooling, oil is only there for lubrication, reason why you feed from the head OR use restrictor when feeding from the filter housing.

See 98mitsuGSX-SD's post.

Well will filling the car full of coolant and letting it sit overnight be alright? Or should I take off the front coolant line and pour some into it?

What about doing a 70/30 mix. Will that be alright or should it be just straight coolant?

Also, I have a joe p mbc. I will at first be just going off the standard wg spring which I believe is .9 bar for me.

When going off just wg spring do I use the top or side?

Do I need to plug the other vaccum nipple that is not being used.

For mbc the instructions say go from side port to side of the mbc. Then to boost source.

Problem is, that I don't have an exhaust. Open o2 would get me to much unwanted attention.

I also hope my fan wiring works right. We will see. I have it setup to kick on when I want with link.

IGNITION AND FUEL! DO NOT FORGET THE FUEL!

My mistake, for some reason I thought you were asking if you need to connect the coolant lines before firing her up. :coy: You don't need to coolant prime the turbo, the choice of mixture is also irrelevant to the turbo. I run 70/30 in the summer and 50/50 in the winter.

A ball and spring is hooked up to the side port only, the top port is to be vented to the atmosphere.

Well I tried making my own gaskets for the return line. Didn't work to well. So I just ordered some. Car still needs to have licp and exhaust made then fire it up :)

Are the cops really that bad in BS? Just a quick trip around the block shouldn't hurt ya that much.

Yes. 4 cops in the last month have switched to Independence because of the BS chief. Guess he requires some ### rules.

If i take it out, I won't be coming back LOL. Also the police station is 1/2 mile from my house. So, it's not the smartest thing ever.

Glad to hear it is finally back together and running. I wish i could say the same for mine.....
