I am going to purchase both swaybars for my 2g turbo , i heard all stories about clearance issues with aftermarket exhaust and etc. I want you my dear DSM'ers to tell me what kind of sway bars you have in your car , how well they perform , and whats the best buy with best money. Im not cheap , and i know i get what i pay for . If you guys going to be extreemely kind , give me info where you got them from too , and what brand ofcourse!! :D :dsm:
Remember your opinion counts , basically most votes will decide what im getting. :thumb:

IMHO you don't need sway bars or strut bars or anything of the sort (unless your car is going to see road courses regularly).

RMDSM, direct from them.

sway bars and good strut bars can help out any daily driver alot, unless you like a average handling car.

RM sway bars all the way. Actually one of the better suspension mods I've done, profound improvement in handling. Be warned, the front is kind of a pain to get on.

The reason i want them is that i dont like how my car handles , i want it to be more stuck to the road. I want it to be like a Go-Kart (with shocks not bouncy )LOL :D
Where do i get the RMDSM swaybars again? Slowboyracing? where else?

Yes, he is right most people don't have enough grip to fully utilize a stb, but that has nothing to do with sway bars. Also if you get a stb of the triangle design you will be a lot more likely to gain something for it. There is a reason you can't use them in a lot of the auto-x classes. But this thread really has nothing to do with stb's and how usefull they are.

Agreed. I have front and rear STB's--can't say I noticed much of a difference with them. But the sway bars made a significant improvement.

I have both front and rear upper strut bars and an upper chassis strengthening bar and I noticed a big difference with them installed. Now I do not use my car as a daily driver it is 99% on the track and I run Hoosier racing slicks so I guess maybe this does not apply to me what you guys are taling about. Now I talk to other DSMers around my town that drive theirs daily and they said they did not see any "real" difference when they installed the strut braces but they DID see and feel a difference when they installed the sway bar kits.

What do you mean by the "triangle design"? I think you mean a strut tower bars has three points of contact (two strut towers and chassis firewall). Something like this...

^^^ Thats the EVO stb by APR Performance. I see lots of three point stb's for EVOs, but I couldn't find a single three point "triangle design" strut tower bar for DSMs.

Yes, that is the style I was referring to. I'm not sure if anybody makes one for DSM's. I just made my own. I did notice some difference but not a big as the sway bars or JIC's.

You'll see a bigger difference with tire selection.

...although those bars are really cheap in price...

Everything I've ever read about STB's says that they do need to be "triangulated" like the Evo ones to be truly effective. Do you have a picture of the one you made?
