Need some info on maybe a great deal.

Had a chance to stop by the local junkyard and found 2 92-94 DSM's. I'm trying to get the guy to let me purchase them both for $600.

Now for my question. They r both single over head cams, are they still 4g63's? And if so can I still do a build for turbo's on them.

I was mainly going to pick them up for donor cars, but I was wanting to check.

Sounds like they are the 1.8 motors. The 1g's should have the 4g if they are the 2.0.

Yea that would be the 4G37, not nice to make power out of. What exactly would these cars be donating? Body parts? If you need them that bad or if you like to do a little bumpin and grindin on the highway sure. but as far as turbo'ing and making them fast, check the lot for something else

Correct, thats why I said it was a 1.8L. That will help the OP find a 4g63 however.

No they are not 4G63s. The SOHC was the 1.8 liter which is not a 4G63. The 2.0, which was DOHC, non-turbo and turbo both had 4G63's but with different internals.

Not quite the bargain you're looking for if you want a turbo.

Wouldn't go for it unless you needed body parts, interior, or something like that.

I appreciate the input. I think the only thing I am want body wise is a new door, but that isn't any thing major. I just didn't know if you could take the block, rework it and put the turbo internals in it and was well. But again thank you for the advise and I guess I will pass.
