Ok, so here is my problem.... Or should I say problems.
Ignition switch was messing up on the start position, so I wired up a push button start. Didn't tap into any existing wires at all. That's working great now.
Once started, it idles a lil different, runs like crap, tach reads 500 rpms higher than what's logged in dsmlink, and I kicked a crank sensor code. I'm like WTF! Was nowhere near any of these things. I am completely stumped!
Oh, and all this started immediately after the push button start.
To make things more weird... on my way home, I went WOT....and the engine acts as if I pressed the clutch in....loss of all power. Once I let up to about 80%, it came back to life. Anyone?
Just for the hell of it, I unhooked the push button starter relay from the starter, and hooked the stock wire back up. Once it started (after turning key 6 times) the tach wasn't shaky anymore, car idles beautiful, and I can go full throttle without power loss.
Apparrently, after studying the wiring diagram, the wire from the factory starter relay branches off and goes to the starter solenoid and pin 71 of the ecu. I would assume that bypassing the entire starter circuit confuses the ecu?
