OK, i got a 98 Rs, i slowly started to notice a tranny problem....it started off in 5th gear and over a week or 2 it worked its way down to 2nd gear, it seems when i let off the gas pedal i hear a grinding/scraping noise, that varies in noise, it goes noisy and quiets down, and its not a constand grind, it like its bouncing back and forth....against something, and i dont let off the gas in first and let it coast, i shift to second, and sometimes let it coast in second, so i noticed it work its way down to second...my question is could this be a throw out bearing and what would i have to do to fix it...would i need my tranny rebuilt, or replaced....and out of curiousity how much would i be looking to get my tranny rebuilt or replaced....and if i were to do it would i take it to somewhere like AAMCO? or what?....how much would i be looking to spend.....and would the job take more than 2 weeks?
Thanks Alot for any input

don't take it to aamco, i took my old automatic there back in the day for a rebuild. not only did i get overpriced really bad, but it was really shitty afterwards with so many performance related issues (i.e. laggy downshift, rough transitions, and variable rpms while cruising)
