Need opinion on 1G AWD

I found this guy with a 90 or 91 TSi AWD with a blown engine. The lowest he'll take for it is $500. The body is in pretty good shape, interior is in good shape, needs tires, but I have some that will work off of my other talon, I also have a good running engine to put into it once I rebuild my 6-bolt for my other car. The problem is he doesn't have a key to it, I think the people he bought it off of hadn't drove it since the rod started knocking or something like that, and they lost the key. However I have a parts car, 92 n/t laser, with all locks, ignition, and a key. I was thinking I could make this one my daily driver, and build my other one up to be a track car. you know you can get a key cut with the VIN right? i wouldn't go through all the trouble of replacing your ignition and door lock cylinders

Where would I go to get that key cut? Also if the title is good, then do you think I should go for it?

I say if the title is good,then go for it.you can have a key cut for anything for bout 150 bucks.

It's your wallet. Unless you're handing over full control, we aren't messing with it.

Last time i went to get my key punched out i paid $4-$5. You'll need car's VIN number, and sometimes they ask for ID + registration.
Recently, when working on my car i took off rear bumper cover, and found a spare key attached to a wire. Makes me mad every time i think about it. All those times I lock my keys in, the spare was right there...
