What do you think we've been doing this entire thread? Take a wild guess how many of us have used fully synthetic oil right after a rebuild As we've been saying, there's a reason we wait a couple thousand miles and a few oil changes before swapping back over.

IT SEEMS you implied that many of you use synthetic after a motor rebuild. So i brought up the previous statment by rand about NOT using synthetic after rebuild. Hard to tell if youre being sarcastic or not so I can never tell what exactly it is you are trying to say. <---- That can meen many things, it could meen you DO or DONT use it. Agreed about the quality of the products, but he does have to be careful when the temp drops in his region (pacific northwest) about the oil being too cold.

You live in florida, and I don't think you have to worry about that problem.

Just my .02, get one if it gets hot enough where you are, if it doesn't then you can get one but be prepared to block it off when it gets too cold outside.

Well if you are worried about oil temps, why not get an oil temp gauge first, and if you see yourself getting too hot, then get the oil cooler. Oil temp gauge can be had from autozone for around 15-20$, mechanical though, so mount it low and securely. Not on your a-pillar.

Yes. all we have in the n/t is coolant temp, fuel, tach, and speed.

Unless you just stick your finger into the valve cover while the engine is running to see if the oil is hot.

It's in the water neck on the front of the head next to the timing belt. Only thing is, we use it to gauge coolant temps instead of oil temps. Must be another one of those kooky NT things...
