need major help with clutch and front joints

I really need some help from my fellow dsm'ers. I have a 95 gsx w 191k on it and recently feel that my clutch is pretty much gone. A few questions-when in 1st 2nd and sometimes 3rd I shift into the gear and my rpms shoot thru the roof along with the speedometer? It is like I am taking off in 5th and have to rev real high to get anywhere when I am taking off but like I said the odd part is the speedo follows the rpms even tho im not going that fast. Higher gears function pretty normal and on a rare occasion 1st and 2nd work fairly normal but then its back to the same thing. Sounds pretty much like a clutch right? if so can someone please suggest the cheapest/most efficient route on replacing the clutch? I do have plans to do some mods but after this happened then my front joints going out I am about ready to throw in the towel. As far as the front joints I dont know what it is exactly but when I turn sharp at low speeds the front end pops really hard and loud. is this ball joints? I know ive got a lot of info here I just want to try to get as much help as I can to help me get motivated and back on track with my gsx cause i miss her and dont want to have to sell it. I may be reaching here but im in the columbus, oh area and if someone is from the area or knows of a shop/person to point me in the right direction as far as these repairs go would be GREATLY appreciated. Ball joints are recalled on all 2g's take it to the dealer and tell them. They'll probably try to give you the run around at first but tell them it's recalled and they have to do it for free by law and that should shut them up. As for your other issue I don't exactly understand what you're trying to say....your tach needle is always even with your speedo needle when out of gear??

its weird they rev together like when im winding out thru first and second gear trying to get goin it'll say im doin like 60 then when i shift into 3rd everythings normal...i duno if theres some weird linkage between my tach and speedo but I am assuming the problem is all stemming from the same source-my clutch. So I can just take my eclipse in and have them replaced even though I'm not the original owner or anything?

Yes ball joints are recalled. They would inspect it first and if it's bad then yes they'll replace it for free. Same goes for the transfer case in the gsx but I think they'll only do that once. And no you don't need a warranty

thanks for the help guys...what are your thoughts on a used 6 puck racing clutch xtd stage 4 for $250? it only has 1000 miles on it.

good clutch but if your doing a lot of street driving, its going to be a leg workout.

I don't mind a stiffer clutch but it is a dd...is this clutch recommended for stock parts? I will be upgrading parts eventually but for now...
