girlfriends 1998 GTS Spyder motor blew, her dad in a fit of stupidity did not let me do the work and he tore the head off, cut all the lines and created a disater.
next he left it for me to fix
i ordered a jdm motor, was out of town when it arrived and so when i got back it was past their 10 day return. go firgure...... it is a 4g63t, but i dont know what year. all i know is it cam off an auto tranny,
heres what i got so far, modded the flywheel like i did on a swap on another car and worked fine. motor is in, eveything is connected except a few random lugs and vacuum lines.
on the oem motor there were some parts i swapped over to the jdm on the intake. also on the oem there is a cam angle sensor on the tranny side of the motor. jdm it appears to be on the cam pulley side. left unconnected.
tried starting it...... starts for about 3 seconds then dies.
granted i only pluged in the majority of the vacuum lines from what i could tell mattered and i left the cam angle sensor unconnected.
i know thats prbably one issue, but could anyone help me?????
any ideas? is there a very CLEAN detailed routing diagram of vacuum lines to look at? all the ones i have seen arent that great. real photos would be awesome. the cam thing i am going to fix by just swapping the oem sensor onto the jdm head, quick fix if the cam will allow it.
