ok this morning the nut on my fifth gear desided it no longer liked bein inside the case so it came out. bringin the gear and the synchro with it oh and the keys and little rings to hold the keys in place. i got the gear and the synchro back but lost the nut and everything else. if i can find another case can i run without 5th gear for while? just untill i locate the other parts.

My friend had the same problem and he drove awhile without 5th gear, it was kinda like a neutral gear until he fixed that problem.
