Need info on stock head bolts. What type of head do the bolts have?

Like the topic says.

Anyway, on a 91 TSi Turbo 6 bolt engine, are the head bolts allen type or normal 6 point bolt style?

My friend said on his 92 TSi the head bolts were just normal style bolts he removed with a socket. However he had a 92.5 with a 7 bolt engine.

Another friend says no thats wrong and they look like allen head bolts or atleast they do on my 91.

Which one of them is correct and what size are they so I can pick up the proper tool if its something I dont have.

Thanks.

As did the 90 block I'm rebuilding now.

Well I guess I pick up a 10mm allen head socket and its going to end up being that or a normal socket so one way or the other I will have all the tools no matter what it ends up being.

I'm guessing that it was a 7 bolt thing with my friends 92.5 TSi.

Thanks.
