OK here is the run down. got a 99 GST went to a mechanic that was recommended from a family friend. Had him replace the timing belt tensioners water pump balance belt all the timing belt stuff. Paid him and now im having problems with it luckly ive not a 90 day warranty but id like to tell him some info that might help him get it right.
Im having an idle surge and its not running smooth like it use to. Mine usely ran at idle at like 1k if i remember correclty. WHen i first got it back it seemed like it wanted to die and when i turned on the a/c it acts like its going to die . once it did die but now it just drops way down at idle. It also was ideling lower then it did before(at the first hash mark) My girl drives it most the time and she said when she breaks hard it seems like it wants to stall too. I looked around for vacum leaks but i didnt find any hoses that were loose. Ive taken the car back to the mechanic once and he just turned up the idle so that it idles now at like 1.25k but doesnt run smooth and still seems like it wants to die when the ac comes on.
I was going to take the vfaq up there and give it to him and see it the timing is the problem but do you guys have any suggestions. I should have taken the car to trevtec like I wanted to but i was trying to save money cause ive got a baby on the way now it seems like im gonna have to spend more money to get it to run right cause this guy didnt really know what he was doing. Help me out Please
