Need help with my logger

Well i finally got my logger in the mail today, and im having trouble hooking it up to the diagnostic port (the 3 wires). The directions they gave me are crap, saying to hook up the red wire to the number 1 pin and the other 2 wires didnt matter where they went as long as they were on pins 10 and 12. Could anyone clarify what wires hook up to what?

Connect the red one to pin 1 of the DLC (upper left)
Connect one of the others to pin 10 on the DLC (second from the bottom right side)
Connect the other to pin 12 on the DLC (bottom right)

Hopefully yours will be better made than Bosjeff's.

Thanks for the help Steve. Yeah when i searched i found Bosjeffs thread and hoped mine wouldnt be like that but im afraid it might be...i can get the abs light to come on so that tells me im getting a connection right? Its just when i log, no numbers show up even after highlighting and stuff. Im kind of lost now Oh yeah and im just using mmcd software on a palm111xe by the way.

That jusr means that pin 10 has been pulled to ground and the various ECUs are now in diag mode. It doesn't mean your talking to them.

Try reading the codes and turning the fuel pump on from the test screen. You click on the title bar from the first page after you start MMCd up and select test.

try switching around the two black ones, or unpausing.
