So while I will be in staying So Cal for MOD I will be taking Sunday night and using that to propose for to my girlfriend becasue she loves the beach. A problem arisses because I don't know were a nice beach is located that doesn't have a ton of people on it. I will be doing this later in the day on Sunday, around dusk if possible, so it would have to be slow around that time. I don't want to drive super far if I don't have too, but if the beach is nice enough I wouldn't mind.

So basically I am looking for a nice, low key beach that is somewhat close to the Cypress area.

If anyone could give me some ideas that would be awesome.

Congrats and goodluck man. Wish I could help you out but unless you're going to be around or near the Ventura County, Santa Monica or Santa Barbara areas I'm clueless but if for some strange and odd reason you end up this way, let me know. I have a few choice places you could hit.

In that location There is Huntington City Beach, Huntington State Beach and Bolsa Chica
A lot of Bonfires at Bolsa all three are decent enough.

Lots of "low budget" surf at Huntington tends to get packed on the weekends though that may not be good if your going with your girl "wink wink" any way if your like me you may want to go closer to night fall where most of the beaches will reduce in traffic. Hopefully it will be warm that day.

Good luck
Hope you and your girl like it.

I was thinking of going to Santa Monica by or around the pier as I have been there before. My only problem is that the last time I was there, a few years ago, at night, or close to night time, there were a lot of "less then desirable" people sleeping on the beach.

If it is somewhat nicer or there are nicer areas I think that would be kinda cool.

What do you got in the Santa Monica area? LOL

Laguna Beach; it's not the closest to Cypress, but there's a ton of great sunset views all along the beach/bluff walkway. That's where I went when I had to get on one knee. :coy: I can't say for sure how busy it will be on Sunday evenings.

congrats , welcome to the marridge club:thumb: you should try santa barbara beaches cause their really nice santa monica has alright places as well as manhattan beach ,what about catalina island thats a good get away if you know what i mean:sneaky: ..well good luck to you and yours

If you head down PCH there are a couple choice places. About 15min heading north you'll hit a couple of beaches. The one I'm thinking is near Zuma but i don't think it's the main one (since, later at night, there's no one there) I took my girl there to watch the sunset on our first date and we weren't disturbed at all so... let me get on my computer at home (i'm at work now ;) ) and i'll get you some pictures I took over there. It's like you head north on PCH, make a right that goes in a semi circle, go under PCH and reach the beach... Man, I forget the name. Anyone know what one I'm talking about?

Also, along PCH is Geoffrey's, but only if you have some money. It's one of those places with no prices on the menu but they were rated to have one of the best ocean views in the US. Might be worth checking out their website.

Huntington/Newport/Seal beach area is close to cypress. Their's a BUNCH of nice views up and down the coast just pick one. Not so much Long Beach area, though. I actually got married over at Palos Verdes on the beach but it's kinda out of the way drive from Cypress but it is secluded. The beach is there just make sure she says 'yes'. Try and google map it for the Huntington beach area so you get an idea. The area is usually pretty clean around those beaches, and the sunsets are always within view....unless you get that marine layer, then you should've just asked sooner. Then maybe go eat around the Newport area.

Thats what I was gonna sugest. Thats were i went when I asked my ex to be my girl. Its gorgeous at night.
Or you can go to the Huntington Beach pier Later at night there is not too many people and you can actually walk out like 200 yards over the water. Its quite romantic......not that I know anything about since im single again.
