My Engine is in the shop for a rebuild. Old setup was JE Piston Stock Rods. Was told engine was bored .030 over and CR was 9.0:1. I'm running a GT11 Turbo which is 50 Trim.

This time around I was thinking of going different. Something like Wiseco Piston and Eagle Rods. But not sure if I should keep the JE Pistons or not, Since they weren't damage or had any issues... I already purchased Eagle Rods... So just deciding on pistons.

What do you guys think? I know JE's are more expensive and well known...
Are there downsides to JE's compare to Wiseco?

My Goal is 11 sec 1/4 time, 450-500 Wheel HP Car.

And with Compression Ratio.. Not sure if I want 9.0:1 or 8.8:1... The turbo is Ball Bearing, So not sure if it will help it spool up any. My head exhaust side was port match to gasket. And valvetrain seems stock. I plan on going with FP2 Cams Should I upgrade my Valvetrain to Ferrea Valve? So will that decrease the low end? Also not sure to go with Mitsu Multi Layer HeadGasket or Cometic HeadGasket.

How much boost can I run with my turbo if I'm 9.0:1 CR?

9.0:1 is about the max you wanna run for compression on a turbo car. I would stay with the JE pistons you have. They are a good reliable brand and obviously you already have them so no use on getting new one's. 9.0:1 will be fine for a 50 trim. Will help with the spool a little bit too. And the internals are easily good for 450-500whp. I would upgrade your valve springs if you are going to be getting new cams. With your car being a 90 they are probably pretty wore out and with the new lift, that won't be too healthy for them either. Now I'm sure a lot of people will get on here and say there car run's fine on stock springs but if they switched to titanium springs and retainers it would make a pretty good difference. As far as headgasket I would go with the MLS headgasket. Since you are getting machine work done already just make sure the head and block are straight, copper coat it and use some ARP's to hold it down.

Yeah, I was planning on keeping th JE's, But Previous Owner said car had Titanium Valvetrain, but I can't tell by looking at them... Valves look stock, But I can't tell from stock and aftermarket. Anyway to check? When you say MLS? Meaning Mitsubishi's I had ARP head studs, but look like the guy was short one, and used one stock one  But I'm ordering new ARP Headstuds, ### I have a second DSM I can put the ARP's in

Yea I meant the Mitsubishi Multi-Layer Headgasket.

I would have the bores checked JE's are hard pistons you mite have alot of wear down in the cylinder bores. You dont want a Sloppy engine if the Piston to wall clearance is huge.

The machine shop did check the bores and Pistons. He said the pistons looked a bit scuffed up but not too bad. They measured out to be .020 Over. Which JE's are suppose to be 85.5 .020 Over. But the Bore was measred SMALL! He said there was probably only .002 clearence piston to wall... So he thinks thats what kill my crank... that the piston was seizing up in the bore...or sumthing like that... He said usually piston to wall clearence should be .004. But he's going to double check with JE and find what their specs should be. But he's been busy, and I haven't heard from him yet... I just got a new, used crank, and I have to get it checked to see if it will work for me.... What do you think about the piston to wall clearence issue?

Ya seem to have a good machine shop owner there who knows engine building pretty well compared to someone who just"bores blocks" so to speak, let him consult with JE on thier specs and Im sre he will get the job done well there...I personally dont know JE's specs but it sounds ya have a guy ya can trust to get it done right there.

Yeah, he's a pretty cool guy. So he found out JE's piston to wall should be .004. So he's going to bore the block to spec. But the crank I got is no good either... So still on a search for a good crank...
