Need help...no spark?

Hi...I just put a new used motor into my 99 gs. I have everything hooked up but when i turn it over i have no spark. I took a test light and i am not getting power to the coil(electronic ignition box or w/e its called) and i am not gettin power to the crank sensor. My fuses all seem to be good and all the other electronics work, what could be wrong? Also could anyone tell me what the black plastic box that bolts to the intake manifold mounts is and where the wires on it plug in. Thanks

Check that the ASD relay is getting power, and is functioning properly.

Check the wire loom that runs along the EGR pipe on the right side of the motor (as looking from the front). May have burned wires.

The black box under the intake manifold holds reserve vacuum for your cruise control

thanks for letting me know what that box was...it was bothering me . I dont have my manual with me, which is the asd realy?
