Need help identifying my DSM

[Se7en x Eclipse]

So I recently bought a 97 eclipse, only problem is i dont really know which trim is it (It's deff not GSX/GST) On the papers that the dealer gave me said it was a GS, but I didnt believe it, it has roll up windows, manual locks,cloth interior, has a high rise spoiler. People tell me its a RS, But i thinks its a base model, not too sure though, any thoughts?

Definitely an RS I had a 96 RS and it had manual everything now I know they had some kind of 97' plus anniversary limited edition with the gst/gsx spoiler unless someone converted it

You are thinking of the 10 year anniversary edition, or the OZ edition.
All the GSX body cladding with a 420A!
But they did come with some nice OZ wheels.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I beleive all DSM's other than AWD's have drums on the rear from the factory.

Most RS's have drums, some GS's have drums. All turbo's have discs

Nope only the RS. GS, GST, GSX all have disc in the rears.

pretty sure its an rs cause it has no sunroof.

My old RS actually had a sunroof...with crank windows

RS, they came without power locks, windows, no sunroof, disc rear brakes, no rear sway bar, black side view mirrors and exterior door handles an of course the 420A engine. Whoever had it most likely did the whole 2gb swap along with the GST spoiler.

Sunroof was an option as well as power locks. Tons of RS's have both.

Looks like an RS.

GST and GSX has the 4g63 engine.

It has a 420a so its either a base model Eclipse known as "hatch" for the trim on the title and insurance, more likely a RS or a GS.

Check your vin number online and you will know for sure.

GS Spyder - Power antenna, driving lights, cruise control, body coloured door handles, 16" alloy 5 spoke wheels, lower body cladding, spoiler, double tipped stainless steel exhaust
GS-T - 16" Alloy 5 spoke wheels, Grey painted panel around lower body paneling (1995–96), "low rise" spoiler (95-96), "high rise" spoiler (1997–99), double tipped stainless steel exhaust

Yeah just to be sure check it's VIN #,
If it has signs of being a GST or GSX it may of been converted. Although it has the 420a engine in it, the rest of the body could be a great conversion.
