Hi guys,

I have CEL code P1105 fuel pressure solenoid malfunction and I need help. I have did my research on this and now I need to replace FPS. I have try cleaning the connectors and replacing the vacuum lines but the CEL keeps popping up.

My questions are what is the right part number for a new FPS? MD113721 or MR323897? Is there a difference between the two? Reason I'm asking is that I went to the dealers with MD113721 and they are saying that MR323897 is what they think I need. I need to make sure as the part is non refundable.

Also is there anything else that might cause the CEL that i should check or fix before going out and getting a new FPS?

Thanks for all the help

This code is about electrical. A few simple tests should figure this out

Turn key on, engine not running.

Unplug connector at the fuel pressure solenoid.

Measure the voltage between ground (any bare metal, bolt etc) and No. 1 pin in the connector. Don't remember which wire color that is -however one of the two wires should read 12V.

Next, measure the resistance across the two metal terminals on the solenoid (disconnect connector of course) it should read anywhere from 36-44 ohms.

If you don't have an actual meter to measure this stuff use a test light and a jumper wire. Connect the test light to a bolt and touch one of the wires in the connector. It should light up on one of the wires. Next, run a wire from the (pos)+ post on battery to one of the solenoid terminals. Next run a wire from the neg(-) post on battery to the other terminal of solenoid. You should feel the solenoid click like a relay.

And that's a half-assed test method

Let me know how it goes

Thank for clearing up that for me luv2rallye.

Ok so I dont have anything to measure the voltage but I tested the connector and one of them does light up. I jumper the fps and no it doesnt click. I also tried the bypass way by looping that line on the fps and one line from the fpr to the tb manifold but still have CEL.

what else can I try? or is the answer a new fps?

If it don't click when you connect 12V to one terminal and ground to the other then it's probably the culprit. Might try taking one of your jumper wires and touching it off and on the terminal rapidly to double check if you can feel it clicking. (Almost like pressing a button quickly)

FYI meters are super cheap, go pick yourself one up for less than $15 :thumb:

If it is bad, PM me I'll give you one, I have a couple I'm not using -just pay shipping

*edit

Just noticed you're in Canada, not sure how much shipping would be..
