I have a 1G TSI with 2 tone interior. Lower half it dark grey and the upper half it light grey. I want to make it all one color because I recently got black leather seats and it doesnt look right with the light grey shit.

Anyway off to the junk yard I went and I got all the peices to convert my upper to dark grey too.

Only problem was the peices that go on the doors under the pillar trim, and the 2 peices that go in the back that cover the 6x9's have these small 2 peice rivet type clips that hold them in place.

They look like small round rivets with a center pin that pushes into them after you'ved snapped them in.

Anyone know what I mean? I need to locate some new ones or some like these. All the ones that I tried to get from the junkyard just broke into peices when I removed them.

Anyone know? Thanks.

I'm sorry for my poor way of trying to explain what I mean. Best I can do is say if you are a 1G owner walk upto your car and look in the small back windows on the sides down at the plastic near where the seat belt is by the window and you will see 2 of these rivets holding the plastic in place if you havent already broken them.

I need about 2 dozen of these in dark grey or something.

Ya he has a really nice car. One of these days I'm going to order a new hood and some headlight lids from Franks Custom Fiberglass.

Anyway last night after I posted this someone I know told me to go hit some body shops and see if they might have some or know where to get some. Guy who said this was like ya I used to work for a body shop and we had these big wall mounted boxes with pull out drawers with tons of diffrent body trim clips and rivets used to reattache trim inturnal and exturnal after we stripped and painted the cars.

Guess its a good place to start. I'll post again if I find a source for them. Sure would be nice to put the trim back in so it looks nice. Hell I can not even put on the door peices until I get some. Thats the only thing that holds in the upper door trim..

My son hit the Junkyard & got most of an interior for $100 - If you are careful & think a little bit while you are in ripout mode you'll have plenty of "surviving" rivets along with a lot of broken ones too of course...

Problem here was they all have been sitting for years and took sun damage making them very brittle.

The other problem is almost ALL the cars already had them all broken when I got there. I couldnt find enough of them even if wanted to.

thanks for the compliments y'all :thumb: I went to see my car today... bout half the dents are out and one side is molded... he said mid-late next week before its done... i'll be sure to post pics when i get it...

on subject: i might try asking a few body shops about those rivets cuz i need like 100 of them too

These interior fasteners are the tricky little push-in ones that hold various interior panels down. To remove the fastener you push in the center pin to release them. Often, these will end up breaking when you try to do this. They also have a tendency to fade after 10 years in the sun... sheesh! We stock replacements so you can set things right. As of right now we will only be carrying the gray fasteners. Sold in a pack of ten.

K02122 $15.00

They also have door clips, etc.

How much bigger are they? I need them for the small door trim peices and the stock push pins are almost at wide as the trim.

Do the napa ones have the push pin too?

The ones i got were about $4.50 for a 15 pack, and they arent a 2 piece like the stock pin, they're a 1 piece and just small enough to fit in the rear panels that have the 6x9's behind them. Checkem out if ya got a napa near you :thumb:

Well as long as the tops small enough to work with the door trim peices that run under the pillars, those might work too.

If not I'll order those from mach5..

Thanks.

It's sorta like MachV's 85 dollar Denso 1G o2 sensor or there $120 dollar 2G one that is really the same sensor just diffrent plugs that you can pick up from sparkplugs.com for $44~65 dollars.

Do they even get alot of business? All I hear is people bitching about how over priced they are and saying they would never buy there.
