i just bought .020 over 2g pistons/1g rods from dnhieu. i should get them early next week. the only problem is that i bought 3, 2g pistons/rods. trying to find just one .020 over 2g piston (with the rings) in EXCELLENT condition and having no luck. i called extremepsi and sloboyracing and they have said they cant do it. anyone have any ideas?!!

just checked and they only have pistons in std bore...

Call them, if Mitsu makes a .020 over piston, JNZ Tuning can get it for you.

well i called extremepsi and they told me mitsu doesnt make .020 over pistons...i dunno how much of that is true because i saw 2g oem pistons on slowboy racing, dunno if they're made by mitsu though

That could be true, I'll do some more research and see if I can figure something out. If they don't make them then what pistons do you have? Can you take a picture of the tops?

havent gotten the pistons yet(should get them tomorrow or tuesday). the seller told me they are these...http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=1714&

the description says that they are "out of a box from mitsubishi." extremepsi told me that mitsu doesnt make .020, but at SB, you can order these in bigger sizes....EP isfull of crap

thanks for all your help btw

ordered a piston from partsdinosaur...thanx for all the help

Ehhhhh......

This is an instance where "knowledge" as opposed to "Parts People" comes into play.

True, Mitsubishi doesn't make a "0.020" " oversized piston. Why? Because they're a Japanese company and deal with metric units.

They *DO* however make a ".5mm" oversized piston. Do the math and you'll find that comes out to a "0.020" " oversized piston.

Pistons for these cars (unless specially ordered) come in the following:

--Standard Bore
-- .25mm (or 0.010" overbore) <~~~~1G (7.8 to 1, 1G Comp. Height Only in both 6&7 bolt wrist pin sizes)
-- .50mm (or 0.020" overbore) (1G and 2G pin sizes (1g=7.8to1, 2G=8.5to1 comps)
-- .75mm (or 0.030" overbore) <~~~~1G (7.8 to 1, 1G Comp. Height Only in both 6&7 bolt wrist pin sizes)
-- 1.0mm (or 0.040" overbore) (1G and 2G pin sizes (1g=7.8to1, 2G=8.5to1 comps)

The pistons that come in both 1G and 2G compression heights have both 6 and 7 bolt pin sizes available in the 7.8to1 comp ratios, but only 7-bolt available in the 8.5 comp ratios. The 8.5to1 comp ratios also come coated.

Hope this explains the ins-and-outs on the factory pistons.
