Ok i bought the NGK BPR6ES spark plugs. Installed them with new wiring and boost and everything. Now when i start the car, it sputters, sounds likes its gonna stall and it backfires/pops.. What is going wrong? We gapped the plugs to .028 just like i was told from someone on here.. Its doing this while idle.

Please help me!

Shane

No i havnt done a boost leak test.. Its doing this while idle. Now its just stalling out....

I would boost leak test it, a boost leak test will also find any vacuum leaks which could be the problem...

It ran fine before the new spark plugs and wires were put on. From the second i start it, it sputters and pops then just stalls out. Its un-driveable right now...

Ok its running right now. We had the wiring screwed up. I feel like an idiot.. I was hoping new plugs would help me out with my running rich problem. It did not. Would having the plugs gapped properly help out with that?

I see on your profile that you have a air to fuel ratio gauge. Those are usually junk and will always go green when in full throtle. you need to get a wideband so you know how rich or lean you are running. those are more accurate because they have their own o2 sensor.

I'm assuming your stock besides the mods in your profile? If so, these cars come from the factory running pretty rich...

Well im running more rich then. Before, 1/4 tank of gas got me 80 miles.. Now it gets me about 60-65.. Oh well. I think ill order a wide band and an exhaust :).

Just like it was from the factory, there's a rubber hose that connects the bov to the intake pipe before the turbo and after the MAF. Unless you compensate for venting the bov into the atmosphere, it won't run correctly.

maybe you've got a couple of them on in the wrong spots... I know i've had it happen when not paying close atention when swapping a pair out. (just anothe rreason to double check everything even when you think it's 'cake work"

+1 I've made some really simple but important mistakes before, I switched the lines on my mbc the first time I put it in. Of course I brought it right home and fixed it. Bottom line, never assume easy jobs went the way they should have. On my mom's CSM a spark plug popped out...
