Ok so im pretty sure I just spent and hour installing my MBC and its wrong. Also im pretty sure I installed the boost gauge wrong because it does not read vacuum at all. I really need help with the MBC because im kind of afraid of driving my car with it's not installed correctly. I took it for a test drive after the install with the mbc all the way closed and at WOT i boost up to 13psi and then it falls back down to 5psi. The car feels like it's pulling harder but i am wondering if thats just because of my BCS not being there anymore. I would appreciate and input or help. Also im running a 14b not a t25. Thanks

The first picture is my MBC and the second is where my boost gauge is tapped.

I had it that way on my t25 and it did not work, the correct way is to plug the nipple on the compressor housing, and plug one end to the wastegate and the other to a boost source, intercooler pipe or bov. People say not to use the bov, but I do not see a problem with it, nor has anyone else.

Compressor housing is a boost source...

OP- check for boost leaks. Also hook up the wastegate directly up to the nipple on the comp. housing (no boost controller) and see what your boost does.

Your boost gauge is in the wrong place. Tee it into the line that goes between the FPR solenoid and the intake manifold.

EDIT- I forgot, you do have the boost controller hooked up correctly.

Are you sure i have the boost controller hooked up right? I have the MBC all the way closed to the lowest setting, and my car still pulls really hard.

Fix your boost gauge first.

Go to Welcome to Hallman Boost Controllers, click on files, then on "Pro series installation instructions"
If it is hooked up like you say it is, it's correct.

Move your boost gauge tap and go for another drive, see if anything changes.

And your BOV is probably leaking bad get another one.

Yea i know its leaking bad. I got a new greddy rs and im just waiting on the flange and gasket. I really want to slap who ever owned this dsm before me. They used rtv to fix the bov in like 3 places. And they used rtv to fix the washer fluid tank LOL. I had to ghetto rig the bov just to drive. You can see the electrical tape in my pic.

Thanks I went step by step how the instructions said that came with the MBC so i hope its right. Can i damage my car if its not installed correctly. My car feels like it pulls a lot harder now.

^ Ahh... You didn't mention that. Have you done a BLT to see how bad the BOV is leaking?

Not yet, but today i was just checking the stock bov and the hose from the mani to bov snapped. So i had to ghetto rig it. I do plan on doing a blt tomorrow. I just dont know if the compressor im using is to big. Its a full size shop compressor LOL i mean its huge, its taller than i am. but im pretty sure it will work. My Marine recruiter said i can use his gauge ( he also drive a dsm, 95 tsi)

That compressor should do fine. You should only need to pressurize you car to about 15-20 psi, so have someone keep an eye on your boost gauge. After you move the boost gauge tap, fix the boost leaks (if any) and replace the BOV, see how the car runs. Don't forget to turn down the boost controller first...

Thanks, ill be sure to keep the boost low while i get to my exact lvl i want. Im kinda worried about fuel cut im still running 450s. but not for long. Don't you think 16psi would be good on a 14b?

You might be pushing your injectors at that point. Get a logger and keep an eye on the IDC's.

You will NOT get 16 psi on a stock fuel system. With my mods, I am barely getting 14 psi. I need to get a fuel pump rewire done asap.

1. Your bov is going to leak anything past 10 psi guaranteed.
2. Your stock piping is going to expand and make boost fluctuate.
3. Your stock intake pipe is hindering performance as well.

Check my mod list, and fix what you can asap and use evoscan. You have a 98 so you are able to reflash things and such. Wish I didn't have Eprom LOL.

I already have a greddy bov im just waiting for the flange and gasket. And i cant seem to find a cheap intercooler pipe. Also i have an Injen air filter I just need to go get a MAF adapter for it. And yea i need to do the rewire as well, I just don't know if ill screw it up LOL.

Thanks for all the help. So now i know i need to tap my fuel pressure solenoid but i don't know which hose to tap the one on the left or the one on the right. Or does it really matter?

I don't remember what line it is off the top of my head... Just trace the lines back. One will go to the IM (this is the one you want), the other will go to the FPR.
