Need EVERYONES opinion!!

Im thinkin of buying a VR-Speed intercooler and I'm pushing 500hp just wondering if anyone knows alot about these intercoolers, or has one. Need alot of input on this.

I just installed my VRSpeed FMIC kit on my car 2 weeks ago, I'll post pics of all my headaches with it (granted mines for the 2g). Overall for the cost its a good setup, just be prepared for a good 8 hour install because their website is a bit deceiving in the FMIC kits explanation of how "EASY" it is to install.

From what I assumed (never assume) after reading their description of the 2g FMIC kit no modification/cutting was needed on the revised version. As you can see, atleast on the 2g kit I had to trim the radiator support or else there was no way I was clearing everything.

The next problem I had was putting my coolant overflow back in after I had gotten everything piped up. I wasn't running short route piping before and was unaware that when you go short route no matter what kit you get, you must relocate your overflow bottle. VRSpeed suggested putting it in the wheel well since there won't be anything over there since you have short route piping. I didn't like that idea so I got alittle creative I guess...

For the most part its a good FMIC, especially for the cost. I'm right around 400-430awhp right now as well, I couldn't tell you about the difference in IAT though since I'm not logging it at the TB. The best advice I can give you is have a spare pile of bolts for mounting the core to the frame, since the ones that they provided were something out of Home Depot and didn't even fit in the holes they were supposed to go in.

I got mine about 2 months ago. was an easy install, all went together pretty easy, just gotta cut a bit out by the radiator (i used a sawzil).

Only problem i found was the supplied bolts where the wrong size for my car. Easy fix and it was on and looking good.

Good buy for good price.

I believe the bolts are different because VR Speed wanted a larger bolt so you have to drill and tap the threads.

You are 100% correct, thats exactly why the bolts they provided in the kit don't fit in the existing fog light holes. What really pisses me off about this is they don't bother to mention any of that. All my IC piping had been removed along with my bumper, now I need to go to the store and get taps?!?! GTFO. It wouldn't have been so bad if it was stated in some install instructions or on a NOTICE included with the kit. It pissed me off installing the VRSpeed kit but after it was installed I've had no complaints.
