hey, i'm searching for a new block/motor and i figured i would come to you guys first...

I am looking for a 95 to 99 4g63t and i dont know of the other models that had the same motor...galant, mirage, etc... little help?:hellyeah:

you can get a 90-94 dsm engine(eclipse, talon, laser, galant vr4), with a little work its fine. or you can get a 7 bolt engine out of 95-99 eclipse or talon, that would be the easiest. or you can rebuild your own engine if you have one.

so the six bolt turbo engine will mount up just fine eh? I was wondering about that.. theres a fella selling his 92 talon turbo and the only thing wrong with it is the rear differential is out.. 1200 worth it?:aha:

check, thedsmgraveyard.com they have Built Frankenstein motors, or stock motors, and rebuilt motors. i would suggest checking there, before anywhere else, i bought plenty of new and used parts from them and never had any problems.

the car might be worth it if you use the motor and part out the rest of it and get some money back. it takes a few minor adjustments to put a 6 bolt in a 2g. go to vfaq.com it has a complete manual on how to do it, check it out before you do anything and make sure ## up to it.

:hmm:so i was checking stock specs on the talons engine and its about 15 hp less. while this is minimal would it be better to put aftermarket parts into the old 2g motor and rebuild it or is
"Souping" this engine up worth it, due to the stronger rods and heavier castings involved? or is the hp difference from the intake or computers?

honestly i did the whole 6 bolt swap and it was a huge pain, my car has problems every week, i definetly would have rather rebuilt my 7 bolt, knowing i had a brand new engine to start modding. the whole crankwalk thing is really rare and extremely played out.

If you get a good 6bolt and the job was done right, you wont have any problems. CW is played out, but when we get it i believe we want to stay away from 7 bolts. Id rather have a built 7 bolt the right way and never have to deal with CW.
