Picked up this ecu today and plugged it in and started up my car and it had a horrible idle/quit. Did as much mechanical diagnostics that I could do: adjust BISS screw (I have a FIAV block off) and adjusted cam angle. Frustrated I took out the ecu and check the PCB (I'm in IT I'm fairly comfortable with this stuff). It looks like capacitor leaked out the bottom (weird) and the electrolyte got on the circuits and scorched the board (visual and the burnt PCB smell tells me this). Additionally, upon looking at the ECU I was surprised that it was an eprom so now I would much rather repair the ecu than trade/give it back. What I need is thoughts on where and how much an ECU repair/refurb/rebuild will cost.
