Alright so here is whats going on. Bought a '98 gsx 5-speed last week. Ran fine for 2 days then started running like garbage.

Checked the codes and MAP/MAF/O2 downstream/Bank1 (cyl 1) fuel injector came up. I changed map and maf and have new o2 sensor to put in just dont have the right tool to do it.

Runs better but still acting really wierd. When im driving as i enter boost my car feels like its slowing down almost but i still have boost pressure. My rpms dont jump so i know its not my clutch. Iv worked the past couple days in a row so i havnt had time to make a boost leak tester and do that but its on my "to do" list. Does anyone have any suggestions. I'm suppose to drive my car up to valvoline on hwy 100 n oklahoma cause my buddy works there with this guy brandon who knows his way around dsm pretty good. I had a 2g rs for 2 years before this car but never had problems like this.

o yeah and i forgot. I filled up a couple days ago and i have 1/4 of a tank left with only 89 miles on it. If this helps at all. I dont know where all that ####ing fuel is going

The kid i bought it from was a moron so i think im cleaning up much of his mistakes. He bought some really shitty ebay FMIC set up that hangs like 3 inches below my car. So if anyone has a jpipe for sale and the lower FMIC piping let me know

When you have a bad front o2 sensor your car is going to run simply "like ass." Its going to dump a ton of fuel to make sure you stay rich rather then lean (not enough fuel) to save the engine. Hence there's where all your fuel is going, and why your car is running horrible, too much fuel. Buy the o2 sensor socket, or just cut the wire off your old o2 sensor at the sensor because your not going to be using it again anyway, then take it off with a normal socket. Put the new sesnor on with a wrench NOT a socket (unless its the one designed for o2 sensors) and tighten it, but don't overtighten it with he-man strength. Make sure your tighten the o2 sensor before you plug it in otherwise you will twist up the wires.

I'd also do a boost leak test when you have a second, if he didn't put the front mount on right, theres a good chance he didn't put the couplers on right, or tighten them down enough. Also get a boost gauge asap, to see what your vac is at idle, if your actually boosting, and what your boosting too.
