Hi everyone! I've been replacing my radio in my 1996 eclipse, and I've had two probably connected 'issues':

I found this cable that I have no idea what it is, or where it goes, AND I don't get sound from the speakers in the rear seats. Now, I admit it does sound like I should just plug it in somewhere, but I have no idea what it is or where it is supposed to go!

Does anyone here know what it is, and what the hell I'm supposed to do with it?

It is connector B-90 for the headlamp washer relay.

That could be it! The rear speaker cables are definitely in my harness, if I understand it right, so they might just be shot. I'll give your idea a try to see if they really are connected.

I'll also properly connect the radio antenna this weekend so I'll take another look at what kind of cable it is, what colors it has, and what the hell it's connected to.

I don't think the previous owner was a drunk, so I'm going to assume it's not that 😂

So I went ahead and checked again, there's a whole host of wires @luv2rallye, I attached a picture of the colors. It does seem to come from the same place that all the other radio wires come from, though I admit it's hard to see in the picture.

Did you test continuity of the connector wire pins with the rear speaker ones?

The European wire diagrams are different than the USA ones so I can't really find anything.

Could it be the radio power antenna connector? In the USA we have a 6 pin connector for that but our wires are different colors than those.

I couldn't find the European wire diagrams, sadly. I didn't have too much time today so I just quickly snapped a pick, I'll spend all day working on it tomorrow, so I'll test the continuity then! It might be the power antenna connector? But all the things from the normal white harness are connected to my radio, so I have no idea where that connector should go then.

There’s too much difference between submodels here in the United States, the 4g63 cars here all had a factory amplifier under the passengers seat and the radio had a mess of connectors behind the radio. American cars also had a connector for a trunk cd changer, power antenna

If your car doesn’t have a factory amplifier then it would most likely have a similar layout to an American rs model car

But you will most likely need to use a volt meter set to the continuity setting (looks like an icon for a speaker) and probe one wire from the volt meter to the connector at the dash and the other to a wire to a rear speaker; and when you hear the volt meter make a beep noise you know the wire in the dash goes to the wire to the speaker

Thank you @chrysler kid and @19Eclipse90 ! I'll make good use of those pictures tomorrow and report back here whether I can get it fixed!

They have a headlight washer in your car?? You have to show us what the button looks like for the headlight washer and what the headlight washer looks like on the car. I’ve never seen one on the eclipse

So @chrysler kid , I have no idea whether I do have a headlight washer, it sure as shit doesn't seem like it, and I also can't find the button to turn it on, but maybe it was there at some point...?

Either way, I did not reconnect the cable, as I figured it wouldn't do me much good without the physical washers, but I did figure out why we had no sound from the back... Previous owner took them out , I guess he must have had some nice speakers back there or something. Time to go find some nice ones I guess, thank you all for the help!

@chrysler kid so actually I went through the manual for a bit, and I found something you might be interested in...;

So if I did have one, it would be a button here! I've never actually seen them IRL, but maybe some of the local DSM'ers here have it, I'll try to get a pic!
