So i traded a 1989 Nissan 240sx coupe automatic for a 1997 Eagle Talon Esi. i have had it for two weeks now and had nothing but problems. First off i want to state that the previous owner was not the brightest. This is my first DSM and I'm just getting very frustrated. So when I traded it the kid said it needed a new blower motor, new wiper motor and had a house radio wired in the back because he couldn't get an aftermarket one to work. He gave me a new wiper motor and blower motor for, just said i had to install it. So i was looking over the car and found no fuses in either of the fuse blocks. I put fuses in all of the spots and everything worked. So I thought everything was good now until this morning, I was driving to drill in the foggy darkness and smelled smoke. A wire ground out under the dash and melted about 6 wires all together. Now my dash lights do not work, radio will turn on with the headlights. The taillights turn on with the ignition. it fried all the way under the dash:banghead:

Hang in there. At least you have the cool looks of the 2gb Talon.

So the only thing thats wrong is 6 wires melted? thats not that bad i mean hell i was expecting a blown motor id say you got off just fine. You even know what the problem is thats a +.

I agree this is easy compared to other DSMer's and I have gone through. You probably shouldn't have bought from a less than adequate minded person. But at least you traded up:thumb:. Never been a fan of the 240... 140 hp from crank but it has to travel to the back wheels, just not efficient to me.

Take your time. I promise you it is worth it. I absolutely love mine. Go buy a manual from Autozone or take a class on Google and find out which wires go where and put them back together. Ohh and be sure to fix the problem before you do it all over again. :p Best of luck!
