My w.i.p panda, what ya think?

My first dsm was a 99gst (pix in my gallery), which I loved. I bought in 02 and sold it in 07. Miss that car so bad. Since I have had 2 gt mustangs, a mach 1, and a 350z, but still missed my dsm. So in 2011 I started a search for an awd 2g and finally came across this beauty at a scrap yard getting ready to meet its fate in 2012! So I rescued it. First was all the maint. and compression checked 165 all across. Then a serious case of de-ricing. Which included removing lambo doors, white vinyl letters on all windows, chrome wheels, and a horrific neon light show coming from everywhere under the car. So here she is awaiting her 99 eclipse bumper!

Looks very good. The pandas are growing on me lately. Especially with all of the new cars with the "blacked out" roofs. Saw your wheels in the other thread, any better pics? What brand are they?

Why was the car being scrapped? Awesome to see one get rescued from being crushed.

The wheels are made by msr. It was in need of some tlc. It was a dsm graveyard. He normally will try and sell the ones that are salvageable like this one, but often ends up parting them all out. The interior is probably the cleanest non restored that I have seen. Now if I can just get the suspension fixed. I have installed new tokico springs/struts, new front upper ball joints, new passenger lower control arm and ball joint. But it still will not hold an alignment and the passenger front sits a little higher and shakes pretty good above 60mph. I guess maybe the rest of the ball joints/bushings need replacing?

Where in NC is this if you don't mind me asking. Most of the ones near me will not sell a whole car even for a motor swap.

Yes he is definitely referring to Miller Imports, which is technically right outside of Kannapolis. Great people to do business with, but he ONLY sells cars when they are in condition as good as this one was, he crushes a ton of dsms actually which is pretty sad but i guess everyone has to get paid one way or another
