Ancaster,
my updrages are on a 1gtalon walbro255, back to 450's without SAFC, 20g turbo.

i had the 550's without SAFC witch gave me fuel cut, and i went back to 450's, now my turbo sounds wierd when i floor it, kind of like a firework??? wierddddd i checked back into the engine i touched nothin but injector swap, before with the 550 sounded better, any ideas what i could check n that might fix this. thnx and

question #2 i have a 3pod gauge with the , boost, air/fuel, oil press.

air /fuel is always lean, moves up just a bit when i drive it but still lean, any ideas
i had sparkplugs changed, i play around with my BC nothin still lean. regulators getting installed soon, will that help

let me know guys, id appriciate it. thnx

By air/fuel gauge im assuming its a narrow band reading off the stock O2 sensor, showing constantly lean with no changes indicates that the O2 sensor is fouled and needs to be replaced. When you say your turbo sounds like a firework do you mean it whistles loudly or makes a crackling noise. A whistle might indicate a boost leak or in the worst case scenario bearings failing in the turbo causing the compressor to rub on the housing. Crackling could be the engine knocking in the case that it isnt the O2 sensor being bad and the engine is actually running THAT lean. :dsm:

I have a wideband and for a while my a/f was always lean, turns out it was a bad cam angle sensor, maybe try that?

with the 450's its got more power, but should be faster with the 20g. the turbo is brand new, it has something to do with all the lines and hoses something becuz with the 550's it sounded like PSHHHHHH loud but i was only able to push it at the rpm of 3 be4 i got fuel cut , now that i can finally floor it all the way with the 450s different sound. i mean the engine has no knocks wats so ever , very strong engine, and quiet., as for the o2 it is stock. i should maybe get that replaced (let me know what kind), and also, and i know for a fact something is not good around the turbo area and the lines, bcuz i got a o2housing wasteagte, witch should sound like fking lambo, I cant Hear it, takes no action at all, maybe my wasteage is not openin, or always open. i dono.

You probably SHOULDN'T run a 20g on stock injectors... Just a thought. You have a SAFC, do you have a logger to go with it? If not how do you know what your car is doing? How do you know that you don't have any knock? Dare I ask how much boost you are running with this 20g on your stock injectors? Even 550's are too small for that size turbo on the kind of boost its meant for.

My suggestion would be get a smaller turbo to play with since you think you are getting strange noises out of the one you have now. Tune it with the smaller turbo and get the car running good before trying to go bigger. Get all the supporting mods you need in the mean time and check for boost leaks. A wideband never hurts as well. I have a feeling you need a new seal or o ring on one of the injectors thats why you get a hissing noise with the 550's and not the stock injectors.

he said he doesnt havent an SAFC on it with either the 450s of 550s.

im thinking the same thing, you either need a smaller turbo or larger injectors and some way to control them.

as for the o2 it is stock. i should maybe get that replaced (let me know what kind)

A quick search on this forum will answer this question for you.

+1 on not using a 20g w/ 450s and no AFC. You really need to invest in at the VERY least a logger and boost/egt gauges before you start adding power. Keep the boost way down until you have a way of reading what your engine is trying to tell you.

thanks alot guys for the replys' and another thing i know i need bigger injectors, thats OK n an afc thats Ok also. should i be paying 5 to 7 bills to tune that shit i mean, #### that., if i got a dsm link is that a plug in or i gotta tune that also????

i been under that hood for too long, i have a big 16g thats been taken out n im not about to put it back in, im a just bring it to Magnus n they can deal with this. thnx guys take care.

yes you will need to tune dsmlink also.

that price is probably the highest it would be to tune it. and depending on their rates that might not be too far off

Link is a data logger in itself, but you need a computer to view the info. Tell link your mods and they can get pretty close on the base map but you should still go on the dyno for the fine tuning. Depending on how much tuning your car needs and how much the shop charges per hour should give you an idea on the price. I just installed link and had it tuned at Works(infineon raceway) it cost about $400. and took a little over 4 hours.

The support for DSMLink is very good. Honestly you can probably learn to tune yourself. You're certainly going to be no worse off learning than trying to run your 20g with 450s. If you decide to get DSMLink I'll try to point you in the right direction for learning.

thnx for the replys once again, i could probly street tune it myself but i dont want headache, im tired of civics going by me., im a get some more info. by magnus then ill go from there. thnx guysss
