My ride quality is bad

Ok here is the deal my car feels awful everytime i go trough some bumps, even if minor it sounds loud and and shakes all over while also hitting hard even tough these are average road bumps.

i replaced the front shocks with illuminas and it helped a bit, still my ride quality is awful, i am thinking about replacing the rear, tires and align the car to see if this will correct this. I was told to put in springs but wouldn't this make my ride quality worse??

pretty much what it is, most of your suspension bushings are shot, I believe you can get energy suspension bushings from like pepboys, at not an expensive price... but you have to order them... or just go to the dealer and get them from satan...

But I think it's quite some work to put the on...
But this will definetaly improve your suspension all the way around.

PS: I'm not talking about your engine mounts, but all your bushings around the car... front and rear

it could possibly be the springs. The shocks are ment to obsorb the coil ossilations of the springs. But if the spring has lost its rigidity, then the shock(or strut) will be over worked, causing a rougher ride.

not really anything to do with sports car because it's worse than most eclipses i've ridden in. I saw my bushings(the one's on the shocks) and they were good, also the rears are good too. Are you reffering to those or the ones on top where the shocks tie down to the car?

I will replace my springs with either tein or sportlines to see if it will help.

New shocks w/o new springs = almost worthless.

Ive heard this so many times. Fattie nailed it on the head. When you do suspension, you've gotta do it in a combo to really feel the difference. Try springs though man.

Are Puerto Rican roads that bad? I was in Costa Rica, and those are the worst 'roads' ive ever seen, if you can call them that.

Our roads are horrible in some places mostly inner city(where i live), with pot holes and stuff.

I will get some new springs then and see if i can get the bushings too.

I noticed using a front strut tower bar, and rear strut tower bar helped vibration considerably, I feel the bumps just the same but I don't bounce nearly as much.

When my GSX was new, the ride was stiff to begin with. Now I had added KYB AGXs and Espelir springs - god, it rides even stiffer. I like its stability and cornering ability but my kidneys feel every bump on t he road. My C5 even rides softer than the GSX and it's more stable even at 160mph

DSMs are crude cars compared to its german and domestic rivals but its fun and owning one isnt for sissies, or should i say faint-of-heart.

i bet your car is better then mine..try 18x40 235 with a 2.5" drop and u will be in a hurry to get back in your car after a 40mile drive...but more then likely its shock spring combo..
