interesting. thats not a starion motor. that looks like the 1.6 that i pulled out of the colt. possibly a 1.8 orion series motor? either way the turbo is pretty big :rocks:

umm yeah thats a starion engine. 2.6 liter 4cyl turbo.....egads, that motor is ancient technology. i bet that the blow through set-up is a whole lot more effecient than the original two injector setup. a starion was my first turbo, and my first dsm, and I'm getting another one soon. :dsm:

The rear end and suspension is officially out of this car! I saw it with my own eyes! Soon we will get to see mini tub action! Scary stuff.

yup. heres some prelim pics to drool over. its just sitting on the jack but you can get a pretty good idea of what itll look like. sorry the pics are so dark.

i havent yet but im going to. i dont have to worry too much about rubbing as the back end will actually lift as apposed to squatting when it launches.

got the intercooler today. its beautiful. thanks to extreme intercoolers. total one off custom job and i got it in 4 days. the core is 20x12x3. supports 650 hp.

this may be a noob question , but how efficient will it be with the air slamming into the endtanks like that? I assume the endtanks were made like that due to the ammount of room you have to work with or to create the shortest route piping?

looking awesome john!!!

i cant wait to see this on the streets/strip.....ill run ya!!! i need space tho....and the go...

its not what i wanted but its the only thing that will work. if i built it so the inlet /outlet came in from the sides the core would have been 1/3 smaller on the width. this is how most of the dsm units are made so itll work for me.

here you go guys. heres some pics with the intercooler on the car.

My only question is: What kind of crazy engine swap is happening with the red Corolla/Prizm (hubcap looks Geo) ??

:sneaky: :thumb:
only swapping going on there were cv joints and an oil change. :p

Keep up the good work mate. Love the tubs - not too big & out of proportion - 'tis something I will need for my old rig oneday.

What suspension system are you using? I hope the leaf springs are in the bin & a decent ladder bar or 4 link is in there instead.

wow just seen this thread and i gotta give you props man. also here on kauai we have 2 old school toys both 3tc powered turboed going through weber blow throughs, well one guy just switched over to efi but they are both in the 8's

well i bought another colt today. its a 78 coupe 4 speed. ive been looking at this one for about 6 months now just sitting in this old ladies yard next to my wifes work. it turns out its a one owner car and its been sitting for four years. her son started it periodically just to keep things lubed i guess. it needs a windshield and i think the valve guides are bad but other than that it runs and drives good. i got it for $300 and i think ill do another turbo motor in it but much less involved. probably along the lines of stock motor, 16g, 550 inj., afc, etc. i can fit an 8" tire on this one so no mini tubbing needed (thank god) so ill get some rims like on the other colt and throw those on there. my son will be driving in 4 years and i think i could have this thing at a reliable 300 horses by that time :sneaky: :rocks:
