peregrine said:well i bought another colt today. its a 78 coupe 4 speed. ive been looking at this one for about 6 months now just sitting in this old ladies yard next to my wifes work. it turns out its a one owner car and its been sitting for four years. her son started it periodically just to keep things lubed i guess. it needs a windshield and i think the valve guides are bad but other than that it runs and drives good. i got it for $300 and i think ill do another turbo motor in it but much less involved. probably along the lines of stock motor, 16g, 550 inj., afc, etc. i can fit an 8" tire on this one so no mini tubbing needed (thank god) so ill get some rims like on the other colt and throw those on there. my son will be driving in 4 years and i think i could have this thing at a reliable 300 horses by that time![]()
I reckon you should leave it stock looking including the 13" rims and scare the V8 locals!
I take it rust is not a big drama in Nevada. Its very rare for an old eco-box from the 70's to be that rust-free in Aus. Lucky for you. Let me know if you want some smaller bumper bars for it. Those US spec ones are huge!

also got my cold air setup done. all the connectors on there will be red instead of blue. i just used these for mock up. the car is a tranny crossmember, a downpipe, a TB flange, and some minor wiring from being started. im totally excited.
. The car looks awesome can't wait to see some numbers.
i could use one.
