Alright....so i am getting an enormous bogging around 4-5k on any gear if i'm puttin the pedal to the floor. not fuel cut because she will ride out of it....i've been told that it could be my fuel injectors, or my plugs and wires....so i've decided to just buy both...here is what i am thinking of buying.

NGK BPR 7ES Spark Plugs
NGK DSM Spark Plug wires
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump Kit
FIC 550cc Fuel Injectors
Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator (the billets needed as well as a gauge)

Does this setup look alright, or do you suggest different brand names around the same amount of money?

also, i need a boost controller.......dont wanna buy a fancy electronic one.....are the manual ones just as efficient?

what if i bought the DSM link so i could tune my fuel and ignition with a manual boost controller........or is there a system out there that can provide all three?

i drive her gently twice a week so she remembers how to run on the road...but i want to be able to rape her once i get her at 100% again....

will this purchase i have listed eliminate my problem?

I appreciate your help DSM Gods.

A manual boost controller cannot control fuel and ignition. It controls boost pressure by prompting the wastegate to close or not. AEM EMS is a full standalone unit. Which basically means you shouldn't mess with it unless you have a lot of experience. That's on you though. As for the stuttering, since you say you can pull out of it, it's most likely the plugs and/or wires. That stuttering makes me wonder if your exceeding the stock boost? Anyhow, that list looks good. I would rather go with a MBC simply because it's cheap and efficient. DSMLink is awesome too. Good luck.

What if i got the AEM-EMS......i see that it has a boost controller....worth the money?

The AEM system is one of the better available, but that is an INSANE amount of money to spend on a standalone system if your not going for some serious power. you'd be better off getting DSMlink and purchasing the things you listed above. Less money and just as good for the setup your listing.

If you are going to go all out with your fuel delivery system, I would recommend looking into upgrading your fuel line, as well. Slowboy has a kit (two of them, actually) for this: http://www.slowboyracing.com/shop.p...87&PHPSESSID=2549b6a1a85434001cd882249df258f9

Otherwise, looks like you've got a good setup going on there.
As far as boost control goes, the JoeP MBC is a great little unit, and at a great price too. :thumb:

Had the same problem, tightened my hose clamps, replaced plug wires, fixed problem. I suggest you do the same.

BTW, my car came with NGK wires, but this time I got accel and they just feel like much better wires. Time will tell if they are, but I've never heard bad things about them. Oh and I'd stick with the 6s... no need for 7s right now.

Fix your problems before you go into modding.

My ultimate goal for my DSM is for her to eventually run mid to high 13's consistently. I realize I need to upgrade my turbo eventually, but right now, I'm focused on my fuel. I will get the 6 series since you guys have never steered me wrong yet....I will also get a manual boost controller, because as of now I have no way of controlling it.

If i purchase the boost controller and fuel system upgrade listed above, is it imperative that i get some sort of electronic management system, or is this package sufficient to perform on its own?

thanks guys.

If by "electronic management system" you are referring to an S-AFC, then yes, you will need one of these if you want to run the larger injectors. What you won't need (yet) is something along the lines of DSMLink -- however, this is always a great investment, and I have been wanting one for a while myself, LOL. At the very least, though, you will need the S-AFC and some sort of logger if you don't already have one.

change of plans....i needed to buy a few things first before i did my fuel...so here is what i did.

NGK 6 series plugs
Accel wires
manual boost controller
boost gauge
air fuel gauge

after i get this stuff installed and check what i'm boosting, then i'll get the fuel and buy the apex safc.

Seconded... narrowband A/F gauges are a blinky light show. If you need an actual air/fuel read, grab a wideband O2 setup like the Zeitronix or AEM UEGO. A bit more expensive, but at that point it's not just rice-candy.

sorry guys...i already received the freakin gauge in the mail today. i will go ahead and put it in until i can get the AEM wideband....you have to excuse my ignorance...i turned my back on Honda and am still adjusting to this complete change-over of knowledge, power, etc. i also just purchased an HKS SSBOV recirculation kit tonight as well. thanks for everything fellas. Much Love.

woah, holdup. before you go buying a whole new fuel and ignition system don't you want to figure out what your problem is? have you hooked the car up to a logger? is their any knock? how much boost are you running?

Yeah, i held off on the fuel system and got the MBC and the gauge in order for me to get my ride on the right track for mods in the future. i'm not looking to put this stuff on and go to the track, rather just to upgrade some things that need to be changed (plugs and wires) in order to get her to be up to normal condition.

also, do we have any info on this website in reference to charts that will help me identify which wires i will need to mess with when i install my gauges?

and i have been reading around and it seems like guys are gapping at .028...is this correct?

thanks,
Chad.

<--- has converted from the darkside of the VTEC to the Dsm world as well. So with a 16g can I install my walbro 225 Fp or do I need any additional mods for this like injectors or whatever? I myself am still wet behind the ears with Noobsauce :)

I thought DSM is the darkside. :)

Ok well guess I have a Walbro 225 for sale then.I got this FP free when I bought the car. Prev owner has alot of freebies in the trunk he had no use for. :)~ I just want a lil more fuel going thas all. Right now I dont wanna shell out alot for a sa-fuel system. My ECU is brand new and I dont wanna risk burning it with my noobish ways. WOW that link you sent about FP install was greek to me. And yes I believe the DSM world is the darkside....I see that now.
