Well I posted earlier about knocking sound, well it seems to be lifters? Does that mean they are bad and need new ones? Some people say flush motor put amsoil with lucas stabalizer. Will this work? Could knock sensor be bad? I have recently removed valve cover,( can see camshafts) but I want to remove whole head to be able to see lifters, how would I go about that any pics or diagrams with instructions? Anything would help guys thanks!!!

P.s Any other tips on anything I should do while I am in there, that is not too expensive?
Where is the knock sensor exaclty what does it look like? Thanks again!

yes 2G lifters are noisey (you should here 1G they are even worse). You have a few options: 1. you can buy 3gen lifters 2. just use a thicker oil im using 10-40w and my lifters dont tick at all :dsm:

YOU DONT HAVE TO REMOVE THE WHOLE HEAD TO SEE THE LIFTERS. FOLLOW THE VFAQ.COM AND DO IT YOURSELF. IF DOESN'T COST MUCH AT ALL, AND IT IS EASY TO DO. :dsm:

LOOK UNDER ENGINE THAN HKS CAM INSTALLATION OR LIFTER REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT. :dsm:

Instead of putting thicker oil in as a band-aid, you might as well use the 3rd gen lifters as DSMSpyder99 suggested. A very good outline of the project (along with hundreds of others) can be found on http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html
Click on "engine" at the top of the page, and about half way down the new page will be "Lifter Cleaning/Replacement."

edit: LarryL beat me to it.
