My Day At The Track And Some Questions!

Ok i went to the track the other day, and me and an s2000 (stock) went heads up, we launched, i was infront of him all of 1st gear and half of 2nd gear, after that he pulled a amazing 3 cars on me until the end of the quarter mile. now was it that he had amazing top-end power or was it that my t-25 turbo is garbage and runs out of steam? Another track run i had was with a rsx type s turbo, i was in front of him until 60 mph then he pulled on me. And same with a mustang cobra, but in this case the stang had a problem gripping the road so thats why i was in front till 60 mph :D . But in any case this is due to my turbo running out of steam right? i pretty much have all teh supporting mods except injectors.
 
ive been into dsm's for about one year but one of the first things i heard was stay away from a t-25 its a piece of shit. if i was you i would upgrade get a 16gsmall you will notice the improvments and there not that much i prefer brand new for 600.00 or a 14b i heard was also good so yeah t-25 you would be getting spanked by gs-r's as well so think about upgrading your turbo bro :thumb: :dsm:
 
Hey man and thanks, but gs-rs are nothing but cake to me.. i do pull on them by 2-3 cars, remember i have almost all the supporting mods i just wanted to know if the turbo really is only good for 1 gear and 2 gear, cause anything over is pretty slow
 
you'd be surprised i seen gs-r's with a set of cams break down gs-t's off which pisses me off but yeah man heres the thing that can be disappointing you have subject a (1997 Acura Integra gs-r) 15.4 1/4mile then you have subject b (1997 Eclipse gs-t) both of them stock Subject a is not turboed all motor, eclipse turboed how the #### do they both run in the 15's it pissed me off man cause my biggest rivals are honda/acura :mad:

It's both. That t25 runs out of steam past 5500. The s2000 has a redline of 9000 rpm's (bumped down to 8400 for the 04's) so it can stay in gear a bit longer. The mustang cobra has lots of top end. Every cobra that I've taken on at the track I've pulled hard at the line but they catch up to me by the 1/8 mark and have me by a car legnth at the end. The et's would be similar but his trap speeds would be 8-12 mph higher than mine. Find yourself a 14B and a j-pipe and you'll notice a difference.
 
Hey prophecy7115, you might want to update your vehicle profile. All you have listed is a catback system and springs. Last time I checked that's not all the basic mods one can do.LOL
 
Dont waste your money on a 16g, get a 50 trim at least if your going to spend the money. It isnt that much more. 14b would be good also if your going cheap, try to get a ported one if possible. You are going to get heatsoak on a 16g or 14b more than likely anyways. So unless your adding a new I/C go with the 14b.
 
Hey Prophecy, what psi were you running on your turbo? What are your actual mods since you haven't updated your profile? There is no sense in going out and swapping on a huge turbo unless you have the right supporting mods. First of all if you want to upgrade to a 14B thats fine. You can run that turbo on your stock setup. However, if your going even as big as a 16G you're going to need fuel modifications, tuning equipment, etc... What times did you run when you went to the track. Knowing what you have and what kind of times you're running will help us better help you.
 
UMM i forgot what time i got. :D . but the race did happen, my current mods are,
~hks ssq BOV
~turbo back 2 and 3/4 inch piping (magnaflow)
~injen intake filter
~free mods (boost solenoid) funny thing before filter and bov i was at 12psi after i am at 11 with crazy 20 pound spike? why this? I have a boost controller not installed.

See I went to the track today :D , and also raced a civic hatch with a b16 motor swap on a roll on :D . and we were neck and neck all of first gear then half way of second he pulls on me and by 3rd redline he is 2 cars in front of me, and his friend has the same eclipse with t-25 gets beats (or so he says)!! is mine slow? :confused: feels fine!!
 
Well no kidding you're getting beat. If you're only at 12 psi. And what you're experiencing is boost spike do a search on how to fix it. (sorry I'm feeling to lazy plus I have to go to work) Get that MBC on there and some fuel mods and turn up the boost man. You'll start seeing differences.
 
Spiking is when your wastegate hole is large enough, but your actuator can is taking too long to fill with compressed air, so you *temporarily* overshoot your boost level
the problems why this might happening bro is because of Turbo with a 34mm Wastegate flapper modification (needed to help prevent boost creep with larger exhaust)
Ported or tubular O2 Sensor housing (needed to help prevent boost creep with larger exhaust) :thumb: :dsm:
