I blew one master cylinder trying to bleed it. I just put my tranny back in and I am having this problem. The pedal goes down but the slave cylinder wont push the clutch, I dont want to blow my new cylinder, its doing the same thing. I put the clutch disk it right, with the flatter side towards the flywheel.

It worked fine before I took the tranny out. Any ideas?

did you bleed the clutch?

yeah I bled it, thats when it blew the master cylinder. I was pushing the pedal down but for some reason the slave cylinder couldnt push the fork so the build up of pressure blew the master. Weird. I dont know what could cause my fork to freeze up.

look at your slave..if you are not getting any movement you might have a bad ball and fork. i had this problem and was only getting 3/8" movement. i shimmed it and the clutch disengages great

The slave was/is fine. I put the new master cylinder in and tried to bleed it again. It would bleed air out fine and then when it was bled I could push the pedal down (with a shit load of resistance) but the slave wouldnt move the fork.

I then noticed fluid pouring out of the line going into the master, I took it out wrapped the hell out of it with tape and put it back in. Bled it down again and then it started to move the fork about an inch and a half. I dont know what the deal was, but its fine now.
