My car isn't starting, Help please.

Hey guys. How's it going? I am driving my car, and i know its untuned and all.. but its my only transportation cause my cavalier's tranny went. =\

Anyways, it sounded like I started to run out of gas [my gas gauge doesnt work well]. You know, that noise where it putputputs and acts like you are running on fumes. So I headed to the next gas station pretty pissed cause I never ran out of gas in my DSM before. Anyways, I make it there and get gas. Wouldn't turn over. Hmm, decide to push it out of the pumps.

I take a few peeks around. Eventually, I decided to see if my coilpack would spark, and it wouldnt. I ended up getting new wires and a coil pack.The bracket was totally different so I couldnt put it in stock location, even though it was for the "stock" 95-99. [I own a 95 Eclipse GSX with a slowboy 2.4L]

Anyways, it still wouldn't work or turn over. It'll do the whole chachugchachug pretty fast. Batteries fine too. What could be some possible fixes I can do? Ill be checking a lot, so if you have any idea's let me know please.

Have you looked at your ECU. I know that will cause all sorts of no start problems. There is a list somewhere around here of the steps to check. But one of the basic things to check would be if your Check Engine Light comes on or not. If it comes on it should go out within three to five seconds. That is where I would start.

My check engine light has been on for like a year. Brand new ecu.. Eprom with my dsm chip in it. With the other ecu it doesn't start either, so I don't think that is the problem.


This sucks because it has been over 2.5 years of it not running correctly.

I feel as if my only option is to sell and recover what I can, but all my work in it, money spent, and frustration from it doesn't seem thats the best choice. Sigh. =\
